I wouldn't run the inner lights in low-beam mode, because their beam pattern isn't designed for that use.  I would use the outer two for low and all 4 for high.  You will even see a significant improvement in the low-beam performance with just the two outers.

The coolant temp sensors are the same between digital and non-digital cars.
