Re: 1993 3.1 will not stay running

Are the MPFI cars vacuum referenced on the fuel pressure like the SFI cars? If so...43 with key on and 35 idling sounds about right. If you have the gauge on it you could stab the throttle quick to see if the fuel psi rises to 43 and then falls back down. That test would help either confirm normal o...

Re: Camaro paint job...after almost 10 years

Yeah, I've got a million things going on right now. But it's sure nice to have that car progressing without my time on it. Haha

Re: LS1/t56 swap

Saweeeeet. That laser level does an amazing job figuring out your sheet metal cuts. Very cool with the fitment of the rail going through the trunk panel.

Re: 1992 - Stall After Surge / Slow Cycling

I've talked to an old GM "calibration tech" and he did say those computers can and will fatigue the solder connections over time and cause some strange things to happen.

Of course he did also say OEM computers are better than the remans as well.

Re: Camaro paint job...after almost 10 years

Minor miracle alert! Car went off to paint jail after almost 2 years of waiting for a spot. Nice to see it in some daylight. And get the room back! It's been sitting around almost untouched forever. Race ramps worked awesome. I love the open center of the trailer too, makes it easy to strap the car ...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

Didn't turn out to be as much of a turd sandwich as I originally thought. Luckily people love beater trucks. I am gonna miss that duct tape grille though. Been rocking it on my truck for a few years now! I actually bought another truck already...almost two weeks ago. I'll start a new thread for that...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

Sold! That wasn't so bad. Truck + travel + profit. Guy knows the frame is ugly and doesn't care. Not going to tow with it anyway.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

Exactly. Just be honest. I've got at least 2 dozen people interested in it already and two have passed because of the rear of the frame. I told them I wouldn't want to tow with it. It's more of a winter beater/ mud truck. Got a couple people looking at it tonight. I'm just hoping to make my fuel and...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

So I picked up the truck and now I'm unloading it. I got all the way out there and it was worse than the pics showed...body and frame. The kid took pics of all the good stuff and none of the bad. It was getting dark and monsooning so it was hard to see how bad it was or wasn't. I thought about leavi...

Re: 1992 - Stall After Surge / Slow Cycling

I had the same issue with a Bosch o2 sensor. I read a few others also had issues with Bosch sensors. I replaced it with a Denso and have never had issues since. Sounds strange, I know, but that's my experience.

Re: Just a thought

$325,000? All my cars would be out the door. I could build better versions of all of them for that.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

The basement is finished, so the subfloor was ruined around it. I've pulled up 1/4 of the floor and need to keep going. I like the black out look...but it's not good for plywood and 2x's. Nasty moldy mess. The indirect water heater had an internal leak causing the boiler pressure to rise and drip ou...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

It is. In my town anyway. I've paid $1000/mo for 9 years and about $20k in upgrades and repairs and I still have no equity. I'd never buy here again.

Walton was actually in the Wall Street Journal today about small rural towns collapsing...

Re: If You Parted Out a Car, Was It Worth It?

My dad has bought a lot of old junk Mopars and parted them for a nice profit. I mean, he had some REALLY ugly stuff that he made good money on. However, I think Berettas are a different story. I don't think there's a lot of money to be made, but you could salvage some parts for others who may need t...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

So...water heater project tonight got deeper than planned. Home ownership sucks. So the pickup truck pick up is postponed until next weekend. But the dude is super cool with it. That was a phone call I dreaded but it was a piece of cake.
