you will have to swap out the entire subframe (and all that is attached to it) /struts/wiring harness/ECM It can be done though, just need to find the right parts. I would just rip EVERYTHING off the front of the beretta fenders and everything and just have the unibody up there... then start to tran...

how far are you by scranton??? I am up there atleast once a month for a weekend for some fun, wouldn't mind seein this in person if you are close by to scranton or kingston (wilkebarre)

if it's clogged gut it. oldest trick in the book.  not sure how emissions is where you live but here 96 and older get the gas cap and visual only inspections.  I go to my dads buddies shop that has emissions, they don't even look under the car just under the hood.

I dont know of any beretta that can top of 5th ;) Shifting to 6th would just bog you down. It's just like a 90 GTZ has a higher top speed then a 92 + due to 92 + having the econo 5th gear (exception is the W41 trans) if it fits though I say do it.  There is nothing like a newer tranny with low miles...

for the majority of people this wouldn't be a performance swap. you'd either break even with a 5 speed in the 1/4th mile or be slower.  6th gear is to cruise on the highway.

90 GTZ has a higher top speed then a 92+ GTZ 90 GTZ is the winner.
