Re: Old Pics

I'm sorry. You have a very nice car and based upon the details of your ad, you have taken very good care of it and put a lot of pride into your ownership. You're not crazy for that. I can relate as I had the same car and sold it in 2006. It was my daily driver growing up. Kind of miss it actually. I...

Re: Old Pics

Do you remember his last name? I've been trying to get in touch with him. The last I knew, he had an RSX but that was YEARS ago.

Interested in a 96 Z26 for $4500? Dude is crazy. I don't even know if someone from this site would pay that much.

Re: Old Pics

Do either of you remember Andy (s/n CleanZ26) from the Lehigh Valley, PA area? He had a red Z26 and then got an RSX. His girlfriend's name was Nicole (?) and they both went to Kutztown.

head gasket hell

I guess its a little too late for this comment but I'll ask you anyways - are you sure it was the headgasket(s)? The 3100's are notorious for lower intake gasket leaks which then allows coolant to enter into the engine. Sometimes it sprays out rather than in depending on the location but I'm willing...

The clutch is shot. There is simply no more material left on the discs to grab and spin the flywheel. If you can push in the clutch pedal, put the car in gear, and release the clutch pedal all the way without the car stalling or moving - the clutch is shot.

Alternator

Just for comparison, I had a local starter and alternator rebuild shop build me a 140A for my 93 Base and it cost something like $125 with a very limited warranty. Never had any problems in the year I had it in the car. After the Base was totalled, I got my Z26 and noticed the casings weren't the sa...

Any tips?

I've only worked with StreetGlow, but other should be similiar, so here's my tips on how to install them... If you're going to use the brackets they supply (cable ties work well too if you find a spot to tie them to), use them on EVERY OTHER spot they have marked. This will allow the tube to flex sl...

Kyb gr2 struts

To my knowledge, the GR2's will not work on a GTZ with the direct acting front sway bar. If I remember correctly, the sway bar is welded to the bottom of the strut.

Tb coolent lines

I have not heard any problems resulting from this. People say the throttle could stick open but from what I hear from GM, it's just supposed to keep the TB at a fairly constant temperature. Think about it... When the car is cold and there's no coolant flowing, the throttle body is cold. I've never h...

Tb coolent lines

Btw, some 3100's do have the coolant lines. If I'm not mistaken, the earlier 3100's (94 and early 95) which were OBD-I, did not have them. The later 95 and 96 3100's did have them. Just for reference, I have a 96 and it has the coolant lines. McGavin (Scott) has a 94 and does not have the coolant li...

berettajeep, What you want to do won't help you any. You want to modify your throttle body by installing a "coolant by-pass hose," as we call it, and I bet you're thinking that it will make the air colder. Eh, it's not 100% true but it may help in the long run. The true CAI (Cold Air Intak...

I believe all the sensors are the same. However, the plenum has a different EGR but you don't need to worry about that. Also, some throttle bodies have the coolant lines on the bottom and some do not. That's not a big issue though cause you can make a simple bypass hose and not have a problem.
