Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.

So for some reason the bulbs I bought were already sticking out straight from the bulb instead of the 90 degree swing that the stock bulbs had, which is why I didn't remember any issue.

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.

I'll look on my car, but I don't remember having that issue. I may have noticed it when I cut the header panel and made appropriate cuts to compensate for it.

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection

Thanks for the tip; I’ll probably use them next time around as right now I’m just putting everything together, if it needs paint, I’m using what I have in the garage instead of powdercoating/ceramic coating to save time and costs.

I’ll get things done the way I want when I build the forged block.

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection

Didn’t get as much done on the Z as I wanted to, but I got work done on the Alero that I need the trans out of, so I guess it’s a step in the right direction.

I did get the coil overs fully assembled and torqued down, and laid out a few of the parts I hope to get onto the car next weekend...

You'd have to get measurements, but anything is possible.

Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years

Get a new motor mount, then get the polyurethane insert from here: http://www.rksport.com/product-p/rk-507.htm

That should help with your situation!

Re: New strut - b.o.o.b.

Did moving the strut shaft have any impact on its rebound?

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection

Awesome. It looks like you found off-the-shelf parts for everything except the top plate that bolts in to the strut tower? Is the threaded sleeve just a slip fit over the strut housing tube, or is it secured somehow? Just curious, it's a sweet setup. I'll get P/N's and links to everything I ordered...

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection

Welded the insert spacers and the coil sleeve “shelf” in place, ground down the welds (for clearance of the sleeve), and painted the housings. Also removed the front exhaust manifold off the Z26 to place on the Alero I bought (the Alero had a one off set of Doug’s Headers, and a built 93-94 NVG550 t...

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.

Getting the truck lenses for like an 88 GMC truck from LMC trucks allows to use the factory bulbs so you don't have to mess with the wiring. Just a heads up!

Re: LS1/t56 swap

I’ve been trying to figure out what sort of a spoiler to use on my car, and a custom wickerbill looks like what I’ve been envisioning. I was thinking of something coming off the back of the trunk lid and having it angle back where the top of the trunk lid starts.

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection

I may later on, but for time constraints and to get this together for BFest this year, I’ll use off the shelf parts I already have. The Moog units are beefier than factory, and since I already have them, that’s what will go on.

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection

Finished modifying the struts; still need to weld the base of the coil over sleeve support (aka the washer) and weld the adapter sleeves to the top of the strut tube, and paint them, but here they are assembled.
