Rustproofing
Since there are several different approaches to rustproofing nowadays (oil spray, undercoating, electromagnetic), what do you guys think is the most effective, especially for a brand new vehicle? I've read online that you don't even need to rustproof new cars, but I question that theory. I tried t...

Turbomag
I'm sure some of you have seen this around before, but I stumbled upon it on eBay the other day. It's this little magnetic device that you attach to your fuel line in order to 'help separate the fuel molecules before the enter the engine for a more efficient burn.' It's called Turbomag on the auct...

3400 5-speed
(heavywoody @ Jan. 01 2007,16:01)QUOTEYou want to use the axles for the transmission, not the engine. If you are going to make it work on a 92+ car, you need to make sure you have the right length axles w/ ABS reluctors on them so ABS will still be functional. I figured as much with the axles, I ju...

3400 5-speed
So the ECU will work with the 3400 setup? What about axle lengths? Will the 3400 axles be too long?

Strut tower brace
Ok, so I know a strut tower brace from a '92-'94 Cavalier will bolt up directly onto our Berettas without modification, but what about a brace from a '95+ Cavalier? I'm not certain if the track on those cars is any wider than the pre-95 ones. It's just that trying to find a 92-94 is difficult in t...

Sound system
Other than the head unit differences (cassette vs. CD), were any of the sound systems offered in Berettas different across the model range, or was the set-up the same throughout?

3400 5-speed
So I was thinking the other day about one of the 3400 5-speed swaps one of the members did on here, and it made me wonder what transmission was used to bolt up to the 3400, since GM never did offer that particular V6 with a manual option. Would the switchover be any more complicated than a typi...

2.2 trans to 2.3 engine
A trans from a 3.1 manual will bolt up. However, the axles will have to be swapped out as well.

5-speeds
Ok, so I got in contact with Mantapart and they said the axles from a 3.1 equipped J-body will work. Also said that the transmission from a 2.2 or 3.1 would work in a swap. Apparently, the Quad uses a different bellhousing so it's transmission is not compatible in a swap.

Engine rebuild
So it probably wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea to throw a W41 cam in there since it's already out.....

And obviously if it's a Quad, replace the old head gasket with a heavy duty replacement, no?
By the way, say I had two GTZ's, one with the 3.1, and one with a Quad, it'd be a pretty easy swap to take the Quad out of the beat up car and put it into the better car (and vice-versa), right?
