Permenant High Beams

Long story short... I have a '90 base model and the beige switch inside a white housing attached the the steering column in broken.  This switch controls whether my high beams are activated or not (the long stick from the turn signal switch docks into it). If it was just broken, that'd be fine, but ...

Steering Wheel noise

About a week and a half ago, whenever I do I hard turn of my steering wheel there's this grinding noise.  It sounds like the little gasket isn't buffering between the metal steering wheel and the (in my case, blue) plastic round thing that sits between the wheel and the turn signal assembly, or some...

car starting problem

I've tried the neutral safety switch.  Wiggling or trying to start in neutral doesn't affect anything. I've read in the Haynes manual that since I have a tilt steering wheel that I have to go to the deal to get this done since a couple pins need pulled and they're the only ones with the tool.  The C...

car starting problem

Still have all the electrical stuff in the "On" position and everything turns off when I turn the key to "Start".

There's no clicking like an attempt to turn over.  Then "magically" the car just up and starts like normal on one turn.

car starting problem

Update:

Crank Position Sensor has been replaced. I still have a starting starting problem. I had AZ test the battery and starter and both passed. Car was slow to start once and was told the ignition switch was acting up.

Sound good to anyone else? How easy is this to replace?

New door panels and center console

I had heard I would have to have a '94-'96 dash for the '94-'96 door panels to work.  Basically, that I have to have the same year dash or door panels.  Is that true?

Also (this what I really want to check because I'd really like ot replace it), a '91-'96 console will fit in a '90?

New door panels and center console

I have a '90 base automatic and was pondering the idea of replacing my interior door panels with one of the newer body styles and replacing my center console, too.  I've read a little on here and it sounds like some years fit better than others.  Are there certain year that would fit better from the...

Low Engine Power & Bucking/Hestitating

Do you (or does anyone) happen to know the correct fuel PSI for a '90 Beretta 2.2L - or can someone point me in the direction to finding it?  About a year ago (which doesn't necessarily mean anything) the fuel systems tested at 44 PSI.  Just curious if this is within tolerance. I'm going to flush th...

Car Has Lost Its Mind

There's some possible evidence.  I'l try to get some pictures tomorrow when it's light out.  There is some greasy looking residue on the passager side of the engine bay down near the bottom of the frame. Like I said, though, I'll try to get some pictures. I do notice a sweet/coolant smell from the f...

Car Has Lost Its Mind

So far today the temperature is reading normal and the vents are blowing the correct temperature air. I've read my mysterious coolant leak could be a sign of a head gasket leak.

Any thoughts and could this contribute to poor engine performance?

Thanks.

Car Has Lost Its Mind

The oil looks okay.  It's an amber color with hints of brown.  It's been a little while since a radiator flush, would that be a good place to start?  Last one was 5 years/80k miles ago.  At that same time, I had the Valve Cover Gasket replaced.

Low Engine Power & Bucking/Hestitating

I haven't in my 10 years of ownership of this car.  According to my records, the last fuel filter replacement was in 2001, 80K miles ago.  I doubt the previous owner did it, either.

Car Has Lost Its Mind

I haven't noticed a collant leak.  Over the summer, it tended to get low on long trips, but has check out fine for the past few months.  I never found a leak, though I was certain I smelled it.  I will check the level in the morning once things have cooled down.

Low Engine Power & Bucking/Hestitating

New plugs and wires about a year ago.  Injector cleaning about 2 weeks ago.  Just put in a K&N air filter.  No oil leaks )also just changed 2 weeks ago).  Collant level is fine.  Over the summer it would get low, but I couldn't ever find a leak.  Recently, though, it hasn't been low.  No visible...

Car Has Lost Its Mind

This is possibly/probably related to another thread I have going: http://www.beretta.net/board/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=8;t=796 Tonight when driving my car home ('90 base model 2.2L 4-cylinder), it started overheating according to my thermostat.  The needle climbed up into the top quarter of the g...
