Re: Chevy Beretta FF
All done. Engine sounds really good! Put new tie rods all around and new endlinks: http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/DSC01586_zpspkgbwkh1.jpg oh, and I had a change of heart and repainted the whole car blue! http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/DSC01601_zpsahycimw3...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
I'm about 90% done with the swap. Progress is slow because life always finds a way...to get in the way. Anywho, I ran into a peculiar situation today where the outer brake pad on the D. side wouldn't seat right. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/DSC01426_zps9zlmeek7.jpg Passenger ...

Re: 95 Beretta Base I4 and Manual, Make it a Turbo?
The '95 does use an OBD-1 removable eprom chip. Even with tuning, I'm sure your options are really limited. Best bet if you're already putting money into blueprinting and building the motor is to get a MAF and switch over to a standalone management system. I'm sure it'll give you more flexibility an...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Paracord? Yep, it's rated for 500lbs working load. That engine is actually pretty light. I can and have lifted the iron shortblock myself several times, and the aluminum head is definitely light, so the engine as a whole easily comes in at less than 500lbs. The rope is technically rated for a job l...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Took out the motor today. Definitely was a lot faster this go around. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/DSC01391_zpsiid3x2yi.jpg Inspected the regulars, a little dirty but everything is wearing nicely. Plenty of thrashing life left. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayF...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Sooooo, The engine is doomed. The deathcloud came back with a vengeance when I fired her up yesterday! And apparently I'm leaking antifreeze and I have no idea from where. all the normal culprits like gaskets/hoses/tank looks totally fine and it's an external leak too. Whatevs I'm so done with the B...

Re: 2003 Sunfire GT "Vikki"
LED bulbs into a modified "shallow" turn sig housing? That's way more effort than what I would like to do. I'm trying to keep this easy with minimal work. I just ended up spray painting the grill back to black and putting that sucker on. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall...

Re: 2003 Sunfire GT "Vikki"
totally the inverse of what I offered as a questioning and suggestion. Oh, you're on to something. Somebody on the Jbody forum did exactly that by keeping the stock turn signals in place. It works, but it also pushes the grill forward since it'll sit on top of the lamps. Makes the fit kind of weird...

Re: 2003 Sunfire GT "Vikki"
Well, when in Rome! I decided to go ahead with whatever it is I do these days. The best part is that everything is 100% reversible with super ease. I moved the turn signals to the foglight holes. Picked these suckers up for $15 from the junkyard: http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/...

Continuing on from where I left off, STEP WHATEVER: Spray paint grille+clearcoat. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20160422_10_58_19_Pro_zpshclsqwnu.jpg http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20160422_11_01_17_Pro_zps8iwriqxa.jpg http://i1276.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Finally got around to installing the Mach 1 lip. I give it a 2/5 for difficulty. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20160422_14_56_32_Pro_zps2n6pzjme.jpg The install was pretty straightforward. The center hole aligns perfectly with the Beretta's center hole where it's generally ...

Re: 2003 Sunfire GT "Vikki"
Awesome find with the K-brace, I honestly had no idea they had them for j bodies. I have the Z26 wheels on out of convenience. The Sunfire tires were worn out and needed replacing so I picked from the Beretta since it had good tires and it wasn't moving anytime soon. My initial mod is probably going...

2003 Sunfire GT "Vikki"
My Beretta still needs a lot of work to get going, but in the meantime I'm putting the spotlight on my daily j-body. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20160410_18_03_47_Pro_zps1u0ah4fn.jpg In short, I took it autocrossing over the weekend. it's all stock minus the Z26 wheels. I...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
^It was 1/2" to level it out. The beretta eyes were derpy as one was going up and the other down. Aww yeah, finally got that Mustang Mach1 chin spoiler all the cool kids are putting on their 'rettas these days. Can't beat it for $60. Because racecar: http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/Sky...
