Re: Project: Slideways z26

I'm not sure if you follow Cleetus Macfarland's YouTube channel. But, he just put one of those slaves in and had to cut more clearance for the slave... after he had it all back together. One of his hoses ended up rubbing. It may not be the same but it couldn't hurt to see the issue he had. https://w...

Re: Intake idea

Well after looking at some pictures of upper and lower intake manifolds it looks like it wouldn't work without some serious redesigning of parts. Or finding an VLIM that gets a lot closer. I saw an Acura 3.0l intake that looks like it would make a better starting point but would still take some hack...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

I had an MR2 a while back and mid-engine cars really should require some extra training for off throttle oversteer. My Camaro would kick the tail, get out of line, remove foot from the throttle and it would correct itself with some counter steer. Piss off a mid or rear engined car, and you're in for...

Re: Intake idea

Didn't realize there was a GM variable intake. Might work better if the spacing is already accounted for. GM could've dropped it for cost cutting or complexity with harder to quantify benefit for people just buying passenger cars. I can tell you it works, when it doesn't, it feels like it takes fore...

Intake idea

First off... Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Now, on to my idea. This is for the 2.8-3.4 V6 crowd, a Helmholtz resonance intake. I'm not sure how many of you (if any) are familiar with what that is, so I'll explain it as best I can. Basically it is an intake that changes shape internally to keep the ai...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

I had a different idea so far as making a FWD into RWD... Fiero/MR2 style. Just take the engine, FWD transmission and put it all in the back. Adapt a cable shifter with some custom cables to shift the gears, route your own clutch line, fuel tank or fuel cell under the hood, extend the cooling hoses....

Re: LS1/t56 swap

New here, just checking out the site. This reminds me of a RWD Probe GT build from a few years back. I wanna say it took the guy 2-3 years. He replaced the floor with a Miata/MX-5 floor and tunnel, Miata gearbox, RX-7 diff, stock engine turned 90*. Different car, same passion. The entire forum was w...

Re: Beretta convertible

Sorry to kick up the dust in here. My automotive tech school had one of these Indy pace cars back in 96-97. Yes, it was a convertible, not one of the coupes sold to the public. This particular one had a standard 3.1 V6 under the hood. It did not even occur to me there was anything special about it a...
