Re: My 3400 + 5 speed swap thread

Ok, the 92+ auto mount is also different. I wasn't sure. It looks like you could fabricate a plate and stud to use the 91-older trans mount, but it may be more work than it's worth. What does the 92 auto mount look like? Any easy way to modify the 91-style trans bracket to work? Definitely use both ...

I'm trying to remember who you are. Are you from the Binghamton area in NY?

Re: My 3400 + 5 speed swap thread

92 has the newer engine mounts. New style engine mount will be great for your 3400. You will just need 3100 (94-96) style engine brackets and it should bolt in. For the 92 auto trans mount, is it the same as the older style manual/auto mounts? Post a pic. I know 92 had new style 5spd mounts, but the...

Re: Dyno simulator

I've got one. It needs to know cam timing, compression ratio, cylinder head flow at each .100 lift and your basic exhaust.

When I put everything in for a stock 3400 it came up with 187hp, which is pretty close.

Ohio, I figured. Looks sweet, but I'm pretty booked this year. Be a good one to hit next year though!

What did you do for cables? IIRC I used the old barrel style rather than the eyelet.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Another couple weeks, another couple fights with this car. Still don't have my pushrods yet that I ordered about 3 weeks ago. I have a lifter tick because the way I measured originally is incorrect for pedestal rockers...it only works for stud rockers like I've used in the past. I talked to Ben and ...

Re: Clunking around passenger side when making right turn

Agreed. Those 96 style control arm bushings are known for problems. Sway bar end links could also be it, they could be bad or the arm could be bad where they mount.

High pitched squeak could be the wheel bearing.

I like that boxed axle, I bet it adds to the effective sway bar rate too.

How are you tuning for the woo wooer?

You should sell those wheels to Adam and get some Shoguns...haha :burn:

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Haven't updated in a while. Got it running decent with a base pulse constant of "100" and had to figure out some weird stuff with the idle oscillating. I've always burned chips and swapped them, but while I was researching TunerPro/Autoprom to troubleshoot my wibeband 0-5v datalog I learne...

Re: What Exhaust coat do you use?

I had good luck using the VHT Flame Proof on my rear header last year. Blasted, paint only, then oven cure. This year though I did the front with their clear also. Blasted, painted, cleared and oven cured and it's already peeling off one of the tubes. Not quite sure why.
