Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Car was in a million pieces when I ordered, so I left the specs up to the them. They must have done equal length, that would make sense why it's the driver's side that is binding.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

I put the 95 tank in and all is well. I had to splice the connector to match the 91 plug, but all the color codes were exact so it was easy. I mocked up the exhaust, shortened one spot by an inch, and all I need to do now is clean it all up, weld on an extension with a flange to my header and shoot ...

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

If I ever get the fuggin thing there.

Ended up having to swap gas tanks so I could use my 95 exhaust & fuel lines so I had to pull the rear suspension out. Once the exhaust was mocked up you can really see how low the header hangs. When I had no front suspension installed it looked fine...

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Big problem. My driver side axle is too long. I had to muscle it pretty good to even hook the ball joint up to the knuckle, and it binds at ride height. So I have to make a call to The Driveshaft Shop on Monday to see what...

The connector for the older and newer one are the same. I'll fire it and see how it works... haha

Re: weird steering...

I had issues with my rack having a little bit of wiggle on the firewall, but you could feel in the steering as well. Are you getting any abnormal feedback in the wheel?

IAT sensor compatibility

The IAT in the 91 is different than the IAT in my 95 and doesnt fit the CAI coupler well. (I could probably make it work, but it would require more effort than is probably worth). Can I just use 95 IAT or will it throw off the reading?

Re: Computer Tuning Question

If you are still using the factory 3100 engine the only things you will probably need to modify are the transmission controls. The stock autos leave a lot on the table. I found that out when I drove Jon's car compared to my stock 4t60e with otherwise similar drivetrain.

Re: Need Shift Cable Retaining Bracket ASAP

I dont care what it is as long as it is functional. If I'm unable to locate an OEM piece I'll have to try to fab one of my own.

Re: 2009 Results (so far)

My ET was a good 2-3 tenths better with the cutout open. (15.26 best closed - 14.94 best open). In my case it gave me better 60's as well as the top end increase because the tires bit instead of spinning. So the loss of low-end torque was a plus. This may not be the case with your car though, becaus...

Re: Neon Rear Disc Brake Upgrade.

He doesnt have any of the ebrake stuff with it... and with a 5spd the ebrake is essential. I dont have time to source ebrake stuff now either. I could still buy it and put it on the back burner though.

I just emailed the Jbody guy to see if he still has his brakes. If so, they're mine.

Re: 2009 Results (so far)

I gained 3mph with my same-day cutout testing at Lebanon.

I bought my project car with a 3400 chip already installed from scott0999 and am having Dave burn me one as well. I figure I'll try both chips on the dyno at Bfest and then make another pull with the cut out open on the best chip.
