Re: Wilwood fronts and Neon rear discs... Which master cylinder???

According to the calcs mine should also lock the rear at max brake. I just happen to have a new set of tires waiting to go on, so I will do some testing and try and flat spot the old ones. haha

Re: Wilwood fronts and Neon rear discs... Which master cylinder???

Ok, just added a post (http://www.beretta.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24614) with tons of information. I put your combo in the spreadsheet (assuming 93 Lumina ABS master puts out the same pressure as a 91 non-ABS) and it says you should be able to decelerate at 1.3G with 20,624inlb of brake t...

Re: Brake tech - Upgraded master cylinders, calipers, bias, etc

Here is a spreadsheet I got from NastyZ. This is for manual brakes, so I cheated the master cylinder and input force numbers to get the output line pressures to a measured spec (1400/950). The rear weight bias numbers I found somewhere, but if someone can confirm that 58/42 is about right that would...

Brake tech - Upgraded master cylinders, calipers, bias, etc

I keep seeing threads asking about brake modifications. So here's a tech thread that we can pin for quick reference. Some basic theory Brake systems can be figured mathematically because they are hydraulic systems. Let's start from the beginning. You press on the brake pedal. The boost assisted forc...

You did bed the pads before you did any testing, right?

Re: Wilwood fronts and Neon rear discs... Which master cylinder???

If I remember correctly, the Wilwood calipers have less piston area than stock, which would throw off your bias. I know there is a thread where I did the math, let me find it.

Hopefully that's the fix. Not exactly a smoking gun, but it sounds like a logical explanation.

I hear ya there. Haha

What about stretching the stock steel fenders? I've seen people weld in a pie-cut to stretch them without doing the huge flare look.

Haha. Everyone who heard our American accent asked about trump! We didn't hit NZ, just Brisbane and Port Lincoln, but we will definitely be back and NZ is on the list. It seems more laid back. Made me want to build a Beretta Ute! bute.jpg We went in December and it was nice leaving snow for the beach!

Hi Rob, I'm really of no help, but would like to say hi. We recently took a vacation to Australia and really liked your part of the world. Good luck in your search. Have you tried eBay or anything else of that sort?

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Be careful if you run any kind of roll bar or cage in the street. The cage becomes life threatening if you are not wearing a helmet. A dude in nastyz28 got killed by his cage when he got t boned on a Sunday drive.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

I like the weight reduction in the rocker...

Reminds me of my 95z in more ways than one. I figured I saved about 100lbs reducing weight when I went drag racing.
