Re: LS1/t56 swap
I gave up on the idea of the factory fuel filler. I'm going taller (which is better for slosh) and short so it will be even with the decklid or a little less. Gets me the volume I need and still keep a little bit of trunk space. And rather than dicking with the fill and vent hoses, it will just be f...

Re: The $500 beater Blazer Z69 offroader
Fixed up this POS on the cheap and it's making a great winter beater. It's amazing what difference in aesthetics some paint, wheels and stickers can make. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE8qwoad8Dw https://i.imgur.com/odpehvA.jpg Had to fix the rear axle, that was the last video. Swapped some offro...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Coilovers for the front in the works! No pillowball mounts and nasty NVH though...I'm using a DIY non-adjustable strut mount with 2 more degrees caster built in. And it has rubber isolators for the spring and the strut stem. My mock up shows it working beautifully. The picture on the ground is in th...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
https://youtube.com/shorts/VyC0f9f0094 It does burnouts! But it was too damn cold to make smoke...not even banging off the limiter in 2nd. Sad face. And it would barely go anywhere on the frozen tundra - those cold slippery tires I think had less traction than the breakaway torque in the LSD. So I b...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Oh hell yeah. Technically I could have test fired it quite a while ago even without steering and pedals, etc...but it's still a big checkmark off the list. Brakes and lines are totally done, cooling is all done except for one brand new hose leaking...not sure if it's the hose or probably the spring ...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
https://youtube.com/shorts/0gFmT303q3w It's alive! Put a shitload of hours in on it over the last week+, cause I'm getting kicked off my old man's lift for his dumb new Mopars. A lot of the final little details turned out really well. It's uncanny how well a truck fuse block and PCM fit a Beretta. h...

Re: Dead Batteries
My old man was telling me about this same thing. He tried it with his Schumacher 100A jump starter/charger but it's pretty new and has some sort of logic that prevents you from doing this successfully - just reads "defective battery or poles reversed". I wonder if the key word in your post...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Old Mopars are ok I guess, and these two are both 4spd, but there's no way in hell I'd pay the Mopar tax. Cost twice as much as a comparable Chevy.

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
There are a TON of little things to do before it's right. But the 10-day forecast looks amazingly good for November, and I'm gonna try like hell just to get it running and moving before it comes back to my garage in the very near future. And if it moves, there will be tire smoke!

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
You can get more light really easily with just a bulb swap...assuming they are typical 9005 and 9006. Plug & play. Sealight makes LED bulbs that have the same focal length as halogens are they are really, really good. I had them in my last Beretta and still use them in my truck and the wife's Su...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Ok. Steering is done for now. Current limitations keep it from being perfect...but I'm gonna roll with it for a bit! I need to do some more research on different racks, but I'm too far behind to keep pissing away more time on it. haha I got the pedals completely finished and made some progress on th...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Working on steering angle and Ackermann now. Anybody know how many degrees of steering angle a factory Beretta has? Mine hits the inner fender at about 35.
