I would look for cracks along the firewall and the sturt towers.

An upper brace would really help, but I don't think they should be moving around.  Chances are something in the wreck damaged the front end and made it weak.

Get a 90-92 HO manifold OR the older 4-2-1 style manifold off a LO Quad4 and rebuild the lower portion with better pipes. Dual exhaust is not necessary and only adds weight.

I say stick to a good 2.25 or 2.5 inch system on the Quad.

The cheaper high flow units in Summit Racing are Catco.
