Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years

Sounds just like the way my old 88 behaved years ago before the 3T40 completly lost Reverse then several weeks after I lost Drive and then nothing worked. Then I did a used transmission swap because a rebuild wasnt worth the money for it. Then the rust got to bad and I junked it because it wasnt as ...

Re: From backyard to Berettafest

That is a nice looking Beretta -I like it! Nice color, and the Z wheels really set it off nicely. What muffler did you go with? You said straight-pipe, but I can see a can hiding back there, unless you removed that later? Just my opinion on this one, coupled with a few facts -all the engines pollut...

Re: From backyard to Berettafest

The car looks very nice. Do you really need straight pipes and no cat to go a little bit faster? IMHO, too many people take off pollution controls and run straight pipes, fart can mufflers etc. They drive around polluting and make all kinds of noise for miles around like they are living in a vacuum...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

I took my subs and amplifier out of my 96 Beretta and installed a dual 12 volt plug in the trunk to power an electric cooler and stuff for my long trip and relocation. (Some groceries will require traveling 300 miles one way every few weeks), small town. Did a once over on my 96 to make it ready for...

Re: My Berettas and Stuff :)

The headliner looks great and it does match the seats! Did you have an upholstery shop do it? Somehow my factory '93 headliner is holding on, I hope it stays that way. We were able to do the job at home (Outside because glue fumes). I found the fabric on ebay and it turned out to be the right shade...

Re: Random high idle

I don't know if this is what you are having, but on my 96 with the 3100 I kept getting high idle and low idle problems at one point, I was doing the same thing, checking for vacuum leaks, checking my sensors, replacing the IAC, made sure the throttle body was clean, checked MAF and fuel etc. Turns o...

Re: My Berettas and Stuff :)

New headliner on my 96 Beretta. I like the lighter grey color. It brightens up the interior and matches the seats better. I have extra material for my sun visors, I'll keep it in storage, I do not have time to take them apart and sew the fabric onto them. I decided to keep my 96 as my daily driver a...

Re: How bad is replacing the plug wires on a 96 z26?

Platinums are fine. Iridiums last longer, they don't work better. Unless you are planning on doubling your car's amazingly low mileage in the next two years (hmm, actually that wouldn't be hard, would it? :D ), the longer lasting is for mileage, NOT time -things simply degrade over time, and you do...

Re: How bad is replacing the plug wires on a 96 z26?

At 65k, the plugs are near or past their lifespan. At 22 years, hey, everything deteriorates with age. Corrosion can effect even the electrodes inside the engine. They are due. As for the wires, if they are original, they are as likely to come off in pieces as in one piece. They are good quality, b...

Re: How bad is replacing the plug wires on a 96 z26?

No need to lift the car. There is enough space to reach behind and change the wires. Removing the alternator also helps make space to reach. The haynes manual says it's best to as it's very easy. It was the same thing with my deville. I don't see why anyone would want to go from under the car on a ...
