Yeah, don't let that keep you away. A lot of the older members don't have thiers anymore but still hop on from time to time.  We even had a few guys show up to BFests and some of the MiniFests that never had one, but were friends with members.

I always got the best results just launching from an idle with mine.  Too much wheelspin when I tried...

Castrol Super Clean works great, but you can't leave it on too long or it'll start pitting the aluminum.  I used it to clean up my 3100 intake when I had to replace the gasket, it came out looking like it was new after a couple of soak and rinses.

Yeah, then you just grind the slushbox to a pulp like I did   Woohoo for no 3rd or 4th gear  

I got my base in 1999 right after I'd turned 17 and I'll be 26 this year. Where does the time go?

I've always liked BF Goodrich Radial TAs... can't go wrong with a classic.  

They come in a huge variety of sizes in 14, 15, and 16s too so finding the size you want shouldn't be a problem.

Heh, I know the feeling... my car hasn't seen the track for 6 years and the road for 5 now.  It's been sitting in the garage in the same half-stripped state for going on 2 years now.

Hopefully I finish it sometime in the next decade

House repairs suck man, I know how you feel.  My old house had a boiler and it acted up a few times; not fun at all. I need to get my garage roof fixed, it's leaking, and I recently had a piece of flashing come off the roof in a storm.  Total PITA fixing that stuff too, it got so bent up I'm gonna h...

Sounds pretty nice man, what kind of mufflers are you running on that?

One of my friends has an F-150 with the 4.6 with true dual Gibsons and it sounds pretty similar to that.

I managed to push 15.40@88 out of my 3100, but that was also with a lot of the interior gutted.
