Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years
Look in the wanted section I think someone is selling a set of cunucks can't remember the year though. Thanks, I saw those. I made my decision more based on not breaking the car. Also, I found this site that sells custom sized poly stock in different softness. Id assume it wouldn't take much to hac...

Re: New strut - b.o.o.b.
Did moving the strut shaft have any impact on its rebound? It didn't, I ran it through it's travel a few times and it just kinda stopped about half way. It also had much less resistance than the one without the FE7 bracket. That's what I get for cheaping out and not following your lead w/the coilov...

New strut - b.o.o.b.
Decided to open up my closeout deal Sachs struts and check em out. Glad I did, looks like I won't be doing them this weekend. I ordered a left for an FE7 and a right for a base, thats all they had. From reading here I decided the only difference would be the sway bar bracket, there's no way the afte...

So far so good: possibly resolved
I addressed everyone's suggestions and I had the car fired up a few times this weekend just moving it around the driveway. I measured the voltage across the starter and the main ground connection at the trans, and then I measured it at the battery and found no voltage loss, but that's not a definiti...

Re: Not your average Z26... a resurrection
Awesome.
It looks like you found off-the-shelf parts for everything except the top plate that bolts in to the strut tower?
Is the threaded sleeve just a slip fit over the strut housing tube, or is it secured somehow?
Just curious, it's a sweet setup.

Struts and shocks
I really really wanted to lower this car. I was soooo close to ordering the springs. Driving to work the last few days though in my 4wd blazer I realized nope, if I do the struts will blow in no time. I hate the way it sits, but I'll probably put 10k miles on it over the spring/summer/fall months, m...

Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years
Have you considered making your own poly mounts? I've read some about that here, most of the photos are gone due to photobucket bombing. The way that the front upper mount is set up it seems like quite an undertaking. I think I'll get OE replacements for now and keep my old ones in case I get creat...

Re: Ignition switch/starter not engaging/intermittent charging
Got the new terminals crimped, soldered, and put heat shrink on. One piece of heat shrink is green, "borrowed" it from work so I wasnt being picky. I put the cleaned up starter back in. I had to shorten the 10-12ga purple wire a bit, but it connected to the solenoid OK. I'm just going to r...

Re: Camaro paint job...after almost 10 years
Interesting on the Omni, I'll keep that in mind. I had difficulties with pinholes also. Cranked the air pressure and light on the 1st coat. I like the SPi but I have nothing to compare it too, first project. I used slick sand for poly, hadn't tried featherfill. These old cars could never have been s...

Motor mount
I finally broke down and bought a serpentine belt tool too. This is the only car I have owned where I just couldn't get it with a 3/8 ratchet. After I put the alternator back on after having it tested, I couldn't get the belt on with a 14mm wrench like I had used to take it off. Instead of using the...

Throttle body heater hoses
I found this nice felpro gasket for the coolant pipe, I had trouble finding the part so here's a pic of the p/n. I had to take this tube all apart to get in there to work on the throttle body heater hoses. IMG_1927.jpg I couldn't find the right heater hose for the throttle body connections. A straig...

Re: Ignition switch/starter not engaging/intermittent charging
I finally had a chance to work on the car some more. A bit anyway. Saturday I had to go fix my S10 blazer, I had left it at work weds because something broke in the ignition lock cylinder. Went and replaced it in the parking lot (30mi each way). Sunday I had some time to work on the Beretta. Temps h...

Re: Ignition switch/starter not engaging/intermittent charging
Thanks, I'm pretty sure I know where you are talking about. Near the cowl. I'll take that apart to and clean it really well. Even if that's not the fix its good maintenance and free.

Nice! Good you have the ABS working again. Yeah all you really needed was that sheet metal cap.
