Re: Project: Slideways z26

Are the pics in this thread dead? They show up for me but I suspected they would be lost in the photobucket changes. If they still show up ill post some update pics. Ive been slowly picking at things but not really posting about it. New custom control arms are in the works. Rack is mounted and steer...

Re: Here I go Again.... AWD Retto

Could do divorced t-case too if you have the space.

Do you plan on tucking this motor and trans up into the body like stock or having most of it be under the floor boards?

Re: Project: Slideways z26

Got to do some work this weekend. Engine is finally centered in car and mounts are partially welded. I hope this is the final engine mount revision.... I think this is the 4th set now? My fears about the bellhousing not fitting the tunnel came true. I would really like a internal slave trans. They u...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

Yeah 3rd gen camaro v6 trans as of now. Looking to upgrade to a 4th gen 3.8 trans however... I heard there a little stronger and use a internal slave. Trans tunnel is pretty tight and if I can eliminate the slave cylinder off the side it might make my life easier.

Re: Project: Slideways z26

Small but critical update: Pan is welded up. Ended up having to build a custom oil pickup tube because the factory one lands too far forward. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l216/barrymaxx/26510305-E12C-4BD9-856E-2C28ABDA6D47_zpsypnxgfwh.jpg Thanks GM for threading the block under the adapter. The...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

I had a few free moments last night to test fit the new oil pan. It fits the car great. Just what I wanted..... But the oil pickup tube interferes with the new sump shape. So I need to build a custom one that pulls the oil from further back. Then I can finish up the engine mounting, new trans mounti...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

Plasma and tig, good stuff! I've played with both and thought about adding then to the tool collection. New cradle looks good. Smart move there to start over. Gonna be ready for ocean city? The Plasma is hands down one of the best things I ever bought. Cutting stuff is very annoying to me. This is ...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

This oilpan mayhem makes me want to go LS all together, but gotta stick it out to the lx9. I will boost it, but not initially. I am building the exhaust for a turbo right from the start, that way its ready when I am ready. The car will have 100's of issues to sort out so I figure simple NA the first...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

Okay.... Lets see where I let off. Found these adapters to run 5/8 spherical bearings on the e36 knuckles. I will build the control arms soon http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l216/barrymaxx/18092A37-2D35-4800-8C9E-E1004D254C38_zpslrsmd352.jpg Engine coming out again. I hate the new subframe layout ...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

Got to play beretta a little the other night. I picked up some e36 knuckles. I have some used coilovers off my e36 that I am using for mockup. They work much nicer. I can fit a 18x8+20 now with a 235/40 on it. I am happy with that. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l216/barrymaxx/02A3506C-BC84-4DB3-...

Re: Project: Slideways z26

I had a busy week. Unfortunately not a lot of beretta progress. Put my old Spec clutch from the beretta in my brothers cavalier. Its a supercharged LD9 that we are doing smaller pullies, meth, and cams in very soon. I figured I would rather get the clutch out of the way now. Also did a shifter rebui...
