Re: Well I FINALLY broke it!
No, they were MIA. I should have taken pics I guess.. A few (very) small pieces of one connecting rod were in the oil pan, and the big end of one connecting rod was attached to the crank still. Both pistons (5 & 6) were just up in the cylinders with NOTHING attached to them. Some how the other c...

Re: Well I FINALLY broke it!
Yes its true.. new engine is in already. The old engine was hurt, it overheated a couple times, and had low (125psi) compression in 1 cylinder. Plus I had an ignition related issue, it would sputter and backfire under load - at first just WOT, but then it got worse. It took me awhile to figure out w...

Re: Well I FINALLY broke it!
Think about that one for a minute Jon.. once the axle breaks, all the power is being forced to the side that can now turn freely, which is just wearing the piss out of the clutches in the diff..3X00-Modified wrote:Breaking the axle tore up the LSD? Damn how did you manage that one?

Re: It all goes downhill at once!
Wow thats crazy Barry.. sucks balls. However, if you're thinking it got in through the hole thats right behind the throttle body, I really doubt it could have been sucked into the engine from there, the neck on the upper intake is on quite an incline, it seems improbable, but I suppose not impossibl...

Re: It all goes downhill at once!
Adjusting Konis any firmer on our cars will just bend the control arms to hell and then cut your fuel and brake lines. =@ That's because the (cheap design) adjustment on them only changes the rebound rate instead of damping... http://www.berettaspeed.com/weba/beretta/etc/sig/chainsaw.gif so only ba...

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
Yes, the upper mount has been cut and re-welded back 1". I forgot to put the top plate back on to be honest with you, but its seen 14lbs of boost and hasn't gone anywhere, LOL. Yeah theres a million little things to do still.. To be honest I haven't noticed the exhaust expanding much at all, I'...

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
stupid automatics causing problems. Yeah it was a pain in the ass to locate the transmission side mounts. I had another car to take measurements from, but of course I rushed it and the rear mount is welded almost 1/4" too far forward. I was able to correct this (luckily) because I made my own ...

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
I cannot change that 90, there isn't enough clearance as the hot side of the turbo is in the way. Theres other 90s in the intake track, they aren't going to affect anything. Heat wrap and a shield for the intake are on the way. I don't have a filter yet, but I will figure out something. Theres lots ...

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
Pics were just taken yesterday, so the date must be wrong. The car is far from finished, and will look alot better once I'm done with it. I have some big plans for that car. This is more of a lets put everything together, make sure it all works, get the bugs out, and then rip it apart to make it pre...

Re: Ontario J Body Club Event
Alright, first of all, I've only made ONE datalog of Erics car, believe it or not, all of the tuning I've done has been from my own experience with my own car. Now, OBD1 and OBD2 are two totally different animals. The spark tables and reference tables are totally different, and even if you plugged i...

Did you go down to nut and bolt supply on the south service road just east of fruitland? If they don't have them, or can't get them, they don't exist.

I made that chip for Eric last october, we just haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I'm interested to see how it does, because I don't really remember all of the changes I made, LOL!

FYI, the lighter color started in 93, so anything 93 and newer will do for you.
