I don't know what the member's name was, but he was going to put a 3.8 in. I think you have to relocate the mounts. It may end up to be too much work and money, but I don't know for sure. You could try a new post on it and see if you get more replies.

Some help is better than no help I guess. I'm a freak when it comes to the oil pump drive, I just don't want to hear that someone has lost their engine. Then say they are going to get rid of their car.

Low oil level and low coolant level
If your intake manifold gaskets are leaking they can leak both oil and coolant. That's just FYI, from what you said I think their ok. Your thermostat may be stuck. Have you had the hood up when it is running? Is the water pump making noise? As for the lights you may have to go to a auto parts store ...

Low oil level and low coolant level
Check your radiator and make sure it is full, then we will go from there. On the oil, is it the level or the pressure? Your oil pump drive may be out if it's the pressure. I have posted on this may times, it seems to be something that many people have trouble with. I had to go through it my self.

I think it could be your control module, it is under the coils. If you are going to change it there is a need to put computer heat sink grease on the module it has to be spread with a credit card. That will keep the coils from burning out later. If you need more info I'll be back to help you MadMax.

I hate to have you check another post. But it might help both of us. Check Fighting the Quad. I'm thinking it is your PCM. If you need help getting to the computer I can tell you how to get to it so you can put the new chip in.

On the wires get a multimeter (got mine at Radio Shack). Test the ohms on the longest wire of each set, the lowest is the best. I run Rapidfires and can say they are good, I won't say great. I ran Splitfires in my 83z28 and after one month it ran bad, but it had HEI. If you try the AC Delco 41-101 t...

Saw the video the sound on it wasn't real clear. But it did sound like a rod knock. My 83Z28 had a rod knock and I drove it for 3 months just to save more money for the new engine. Just like loosenut said. I know it sucks but it is the only thing that you can do to save your car (new engine that is)...

Low PSI, yes that is the oil pump drive. Take care of it ASAP. I have gone through this my self. I thought it was the leaking oil pressure sender, I replaced it and still had low pressure.

Piston slap, are you sure that you didn't spin a rod bearing? I wish I could say that there is a place online to get a short block, but all that I know of is Crate engine depot. They sell what they call a 96 3.1 (sure they mean 3100). The trouble is that it is 2G's for that. I'll try to look around ...
