Re: 3.1 L BRAND NEW throttle body

well i got it to fit, i ported alot out of the center and then some, i dont think i can go much further so i stopped with the porting and worked on making the 3400 throttle plate fit. the throttle plate has cross grooves in it so i found the center using those lines and drilled a small hole which th...

Re: 3.1 L BRAND NEW throttle body

the throttle plate on the top the smaller one is from a 3100, same size diameter as the 3.1 L though. the throttle body im working with is for a 3.1 L not 3100. and the 3400 throttle plate is larger so im going to see if i can bore out the 3.1 TB for that plate to fit. i think i will end up putting ...

Re: 1994 chevy beretta z26

im glad mine works good, i swapped a 3.1 5 speed in when i bought it more because i thought it would have more power then the 2.0 L automatic and the tranny was starting to act up and hadnt even drove it on the road yet. Mechanically things i have had to replace.. was the fuel pump the factory one w...

Re: Firewall Sealing Question

seam sealer would work ok as well, i think urethane would bond better though since its purpose is to hold and seal your windshield in, have you ever tryed to cut out a windshield its a real bugger LOL. seam sealer might dry out over time and crack i dont know though. either would work.

Re: 1994 chevy beretta z26

looks really clean. power steering pump cant be more then $150 new. and easy to put on yourself, lots of people here could guide you how to change it and save yourself some cash rather then paying someone to do it. you should be able to buy new exhaust pipe from the converter back for under 100 buck...

Re: Firewall Sealing Question

Window Weld from 3m seems to work well. It's very messy though, wear rubber gloves if you plan on smothing it out with your fingers....

If you lick your finger first it wont stick to you just keep you finger very wet all the time, sounds weird LOL but if you dont want it to stick then it works

Re: Firewall Sealing Question

i used, urethane windshield sealant, its used for installing windshields, it drys fairly quick, stays flexible and bonds to anything. i use it on everything also makes a good adhesive. Under the cover where the wipers are at each end there is drain holes and the water runs down the firewall from the...

Re: 3.1 L BRAND NEW throttle body

i found my 3400 TB. and yes the throttle plate is larger, i dont know if i can port the 3.1 TB out enough to fit that throttle plate in there, if i had a way of grinding down the throttle plate a little so its the same all the way around i could port the TB out some and make the throttle plate fit m...

Re: 3.1L with 3400 uppers

i seen a write up about this some where... and its pretty straight forward other then you need custom length push rods which has already been mentioned here. and i do think you can buy them as a set somewhere... I seen a post about this and someone said to use different head gaskets... from a 3.8 L ...

Re: no vacuum

this is a weird situation, do a compression test on all cylinders. and check there there is no vacuum leaks anywhere, if it has a major vacuum leak somewhere that might cause it not to run, or super high idle or something abnormal.

have you had the intake off at all by chance ?

Re: Neon Rear Disc Brake Upgrade.

Re: 3.1 L BRAND NEW throttle body

I thought about changing my top end with a 3100 or 3400 since i had complete top ends for the swap, but the 3400 had a blow head gasket and the 2nd one so the head was probably warped and over heated so i ended up scraping the heads and intakes. And the idea of the 3.1 factory turbo motor to me is t...
