Re: WTB: Older style Subframes

What year is your car? 87-91 is the old engine mount setup, so subframes are different than 92+, and V6 cars are slightly different from Quads. Since you say "old style" I assume you are replacing the new kind (making your car a 94-96) so therefore you would require subframes from a 92-93 ...

Re: 3500 turbo!

. since your doing a 3500 i would say safe boost is between 7-8psi daily on stock pistons with a very good tune and running rich at WOT will last, but you may have seen some people run 10-12psi on stock and others blow pistons at 6psi on a stock engine, its all a gamble, also you basicly cannot go ...

Re: Exhauts manifold modifications, parts/stuff?

Your best bet is to find some turbo grand prix manifolds and start with them. No matter what you do, it is going to require a lot of custom fabrication and welding. To answer your question, yes you can rotate the compressor side of the turbo, it is called clocking. Turbo and cheap do not belong in t...

Re: Coolant fluctuations??

Aside from controlling when the fan turns on and off (which doesn't change), the computer can't control the engine temperature. The reason no one would see a benefit from a 180 degree stat, is the fan is still turning on at 210 or whatever the stock value is. So unless you are driving fast enough to...

Re: Emissions Test fail, etc.

312 is really high. Don't forget, 220 is already a high reading, they allow you ALOT of leeway there. IIRC my 94's idle HC were in the 90s. What was your high idle HC reading? It should be very low, like less than 20PPM. The slice probably isn't causing an issue, but you should seal it up none the l...

Re: quad4 3.63fdr trans or 3.94fdr trans???

If I were you, I'd convert the car to internal slave (not too difficult) and use the new 3.94 trans as is untouched. Don't mess around with the bellhousings. Yeah you can swap them, but if the shims aren't right you can grenade that diff pretty quick. If you are bent on rebuilding it (I don't know w...

Re: clunking

Stop feeding it corn!

Lol sorry I had to.

Check your axles. Does it happen at a low speed as well? Could be end links as well. What type of ball joints did you install? If they came from a plain white box, I'd start there ;)

Re: quad4 3.63fdr trans or 3.94fdr trans???

Yeah its proven. Plus the 91 is the worst year of them all, they put the 3.77 first gear in it, so theres a big gap between first and second. Do it.

And its 3.61, fyi.

Re: AC compressor seized.

Chris, where does it touch the upper mount? I don't understand how that is possible, the belt it still routed the same way around the water pump. Do you mean the actual big ass black bracket that attaches to the engine? Maybe mine was already modified for this purpose.. Either way couldn't you just ...

Re: AC compressor seized.

That's an extremely small contact patch on the WP pulley though... I used a bypass pulley for Roberts engine when I built it. This is missing the PS pump, the belt goes over that pulley and I do not think it overlaps the WP much at all... http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh201/3400modified/Robert...

Re: AC compressor seized.

You can use a shorter belt, however I am not sure if it will clear with the compressor still in place. See if you have a clear line of site from the water pump pulley to the crank pulley. I have the part number for the correct short belt I used on my 3400 for like 5 years. I'll post it if you want it.

Maybe not with a 2010 build date, but there definately are 2010 G6s. There are a few on autotrader right now. Maybe a canada only thing?

Re: Boo I'm Back and Have another new beretta

Jon, my post is directed at him. He is confused on what engine he actually has. He thinks it is a VVT, but it is most definately not, and therefore it is not from a 2010 car as he thinks.

Re: Boo I'm Back and Have another new beretta

Going by the pictures you showed me it is a regular LX9 NON-VVT 3500, that means the car was a 2005-2007. Period.
