Re: Chevy Beretta FF

So I'm keeping this science experiment of a paint job going, choo choo! I decided to take it to the next level and give the car more durability for Operation Superthrift by give it a solid coat of plastidip glossy clearcoat. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/DSC01353_zpsi9a854mx.j...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Door will do that from vibrations while driving... I think both the Indy and my Pink car have small fractures starting that I need to tack up. Well that explains a lot, I guess I learn something new about these cars everyday. Bring on the Beretta Pics! http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMa...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

^^Thanks. This is what I meant about the door fracture http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20160331_16_36_23_Pro_zpsw2m7sykm.jpg I also took some black gorilla tape and lined the headlights as an appearance trick to make the headlamps look better fitted against the notorious pane...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

For the most part, I'm pretty much done. I didn't bother painting the driver side door because I need a new one since the metal on the inside is literally fractured. I'll snap a pic later, it's actually really weird where it cracked+ the obvious dent on the outside. I still have to do a little more ...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Finally started with Operation Superthrift on the front end, laying down the basecoats. Not bad for two and a half cans of spray paint.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

I sorta lost an endlink somewhere putting the car back together...Sooo totally got some new Mevotech ones to throw in there. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/DSC01166_zpsp6shcevb.jpg Also I'm doing a superthrift paint job which sounds like a fun way to spend my time. Re: Chevy Beretta FF

By the way Koots now has a 3400 Alero. Just so you know. that's awesome, I've always liked oldsmobile's styling before they kicked the bucket. http://planetcarsz.com/assets/uploads/images/VEICULOS/O/OLDSMOBILE/2003_OLDSMOBILE_ALERO//OLDSMOBILE_ALERO_2003_01.jpg I got slammed with a bad case of the ...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Well I had a little bit of a delay, this cylinder head decided to be different and require 2 threaded plugs to cover up some holes presumably left over from casting. So I had to order them. Probably overdid it on the thread sealer. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20160317_16_...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Oh dear God, it's been awhile since I've been on here! I've had a lot of drastic life events come up that kind of pulled me away, change of careers, becoming an uncle, other personal stuff, that's life for you! So yeah, I was totally at Bfest...in spirit. My dad decided to tag along at the last minu...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Today being my day off from work, it really wasn't a day off since I got the engine and tranny pulled out: http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20150527_15_00_59_Pro_zpsmkyz6nny.jpg And all it took was just 3 beers and some gatorade: http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMay...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Not too often you see people mess with the 2.2, im intrigued by this thread I really like the 2.2, it's the easiest thing in the world to work on and is a solid workhorse motor. Mpg isn't so bad, the best I've ever managed was 33mpg on an all highway trip to des moines doing 70. I was going to say ...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Well cracking the ol' girl open to remove the engine to ideally do a budget shortblock rebuild considering the timeframe. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20150521_19_37_51_Pro_zpshhbg1zvb.jpg http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y470/SkyMayFall1/WP_20150521_19_38_11_Pro_zpsczv...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Well I'm still fixing things as I go. As of right now, this car is in no way, shape or form ready to make a 900 mile trip to Mississippi. I have a solid month to see if I can get this thing in fighting shape before then but it's gonna be a close one. So I'm tackling the car to do list: first and for...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

Reman with mods. Maybe boost... Boost would require me to run a standalone to tune it properly, probably a megasquirt setup. http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/pts/4942312754.html This guy is selling parts from a 2200 which wouldn't do me any good at this point until I figure out what my plan of atta...
