Re: Should I have 2 coolant temp sensors on an 88 2.8 mpfi
Just remove the ac lines and dryer, condenser, evaporator, and compressor. I would install the AC delete pulley as I cannot promise that you can just use a shorter belt. To prevent corrosion of the connectors I would use heat shrink on the connector ends.

Re: 3400 swap is calling me.......
Just curious, what kind of power is your 2.8/3.1 making? I never did anything with my 2.8 besides play around with the tune. I wondered what the N/A max power would have been.

Re: 3400 swap is calling me.......
Right, cast pistons will run 6-9 psi but it's detonation that will kill your engine. Cast pistons will crack under too much detonation, so you had better have a very conservative tune to prevent any problems. This remains true for the 3400/3500 engines as well, so whatever route you take you'll want...

Re: 3400 swap is calling me.......
The LA1 is 185 HP... aren't you already near that number with all the mods on your 2.8 you posted about elsewhere? Sure, the LA1 has more potential but if you replaced your pistons with forged units when you bored the 2.8 you should, theoretically, be able to use nitrous, or boost without fear. I'm ...

Re: Should I have 2 coolant temp sensors on an 88 2.8 mpfi
I'm pretty certain my 2.8 had only one... I'd have to check the wiring diagrams. Did you pull apart the conduit around the harness to search for the other end? I'd look around a bit more. You should also check the wiring color to the temp sensor. Hook up your multimeter and see if it is carrying vol...

Re: Just Bought My First Beretta ('94 Z26), any ideas for mo
Just swap in a 4t45-e, run parallel ECM and TCM ( you may need to reverse the shift solenoid output pattern with a relay like the 4t65-e). Otherwise, get a ECM from a Grand am that was twin cam + 4t45-e. You may need a few mounts made/manipulated. The 2.4 twincam engine in N cars should have a compa...

Re: Infor about the 3.1L MPFI v6, and using MegaSquirt 3 on
MS will interface with the ignition module, but you will need to make changes to your main board if you have not done so yet. Yes, it is a GM 7x (6+1), the ignition control module will take care of that though, MS will just control timing advancement just like your current 1227730 PCM. Do a search o...

Re: WTB: Corsica preferably a hatchback
The lines on them are a vast improvement to the sedan Corsy. Good luck tracking one down, I hope you can get a good one. :good: Thanks! I figured that if I got bored I could use some of my spare beretta parts to make a 4-door Beretta hatchback out of a Cosica HB... Now the gears in my head are turn...

There were a few around here, I thought they were really unique, so most people will think it's ugly. I always wondered if I could make a hatchback Beretta out of one...

Re: WTB: Corsica preferably a hatchback
Corsicas used to be EVERYWHERE! Now they are gone. The hatchbacks are even more difficult to find.

WTB: Corsica preferably a hatchback
I know they are few and far between, but ideally I'm looking for a Corsica hatchback in the north east region. I'm in central NY, but am willing to travel a bit for a decent car. I am open to regular Corsica models as well, but would like to avoid the 4 cylinder models unless it's a great deal. This...

Ostrich v1.0 or APU1 or similar rom emulator
Hey guys, I'm looking for a rom emulator (Ostrich v1.0, APU, Romulator ect.) for my ECM, not looking for anything new, don't need the benefits of the V2.0 Ostrich It doesn't even have to look nice, just as long as it works. Hopefully someone wants to clean out some stuff. PM me if you have one or le...

Re: 2.2 is blown..engine swap ideas
http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/index.html Not for the amateur, but a less costly solution for your transmission controlling problem. you can use it stand alone, and you have complete control. It's also open source, so many of the downloads that you would burn to the board are free. 4T60e anyon...

Re: Possible Northstar V8
I was not criticizing your build, I actually admire it. what I AM asking is this: do you feel that because you have pushed the 3400 w/ nitrous and have massaged it to make more power that now it will no longer be as reliable as a stock engine?

Re: Possible Northstar V8
the only reason i posted about the cavy was to show that with little modification to the bay and custom mounts the big DOHC can fit into an engine bay designed for only a 4 banger. I think the fiero builds would be similar to ours, at least more than a cavy. Time, Money, Ambition and Knowledge are t...
