Re: Tunercat Beretta Tuning

I want that Autoprom, which is the route I'm going to take. I like just plugging in and getting to work, even though I don't have real time tuning activated in my tuning license, because it only takes about 28 seconds to flash a tune onto the computer.

Re: WTB: Corsica preferably a hatchback

I haven't seen a single HB in my entire life, that I know of, but I still see 2-3 Corsica's on a daily basis....

But I live in Labrador, which might as well be a living time-capsule for GM and Ford cars from the 80's and 90's.

Re: Hiccups while driving?

How old is your fuel pump or fuel filter? I've had dying fuel pumps act like that but they didn't last much longer after exhibiting symptoms like that. A clogged fuel filter will also cause this, but it's mostly evident under heavy load.

Re: Adjusting Rocker Nuts

The 2.0/2.2 OHV's, in some instances, do have a big issue with this. I've never encountered it, but I got rid of any potential problem by running 1.6 full roller rockers and poly-lock nuts :) I've heard of people double nutting, but it doesn't stop it forever. I think a good way to stop it is to get...

Re: Cobalt Recall

To sum it up, I think the issue people may have is the engine dies for one and the ignition itself also locks the steering wheel from turning... I would agree that would be a major issue.... BUT The source of the problem... aka hanging 15lbs off the ignition key is just sheer stupidity from the sta...

Re: finally posting pics again

I'm doing a similar, but slower and cheaper, build on my Corsica.

I love what you've done and where it's going, I can guess that a lot of ricey kids probably try to race you as an easy win, but quickly crap and shut-up, when you beat them by a whole horizon :D

Re: Project Second Chance - Update PG4!!

Man it's starting to look good. The only problem I had with the headlight seals on my 95 is that the frame came off one. Window weld sovled that problem on one of them. Mine seem to hang out a bit more on the top than yours. Never did get around to putting my better set on. Also still looking for a...

Re: Tylers (aka Slinkys) Build

MMMMMMmmmm....coatings. I bought a few small bottles of tech-line products, but never could get a proper oven setup for the temps needed and gave up. I got CBX Powerkote, and a bottle of dry film lubricant. I was going to rework my 6.2L diesel precombustion chambers, precups, piston tops and bottom ...

Cobalt Recall

I don't know about anyone else, but this whole thing feels absolutely retarded to me. It's also more reason for stupid people to demonize a good company, a decent car and the best all around vehicle company in the world. If I had a Cobalt and it had a loose ignition, I'd either accept my inevitable ...

VW and other OEM Wheel Pics?

I saw this car and now am on the lookout for used VW wheels LOL Not these particular style in general, but I've always liked the style of most VW aluminum wheels anyway. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b60/Tad27/pics012.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b60/Tad27/pics042.jpg I don't know if th...

Re: What is your breaking point? (Owning the Beretta)

My $100 Corsica was a parade of breaking points for me. It's why It's still sitting around nearly 2 years after I bought it and spent over $2000 turning it into a sleeper. I must add that I was having a myriad of issues with my 1983 K5 Jimmy before I bought the car, hoping that it was a quick weeken...

Re: Tunercat Beretta Tuning

Sounds like a good plan to me, but I'm an armchair jockey when it comes to OBD-I tuning at this point. Still kinda am with OBD-II tuning too, but the extra work is worth it. I can't wait until I'm good enough to be able to tune on the fly. Right now, I'm just reflashing it and doing it in baby steps...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

LOL That's not that bad, I'm sure mine is worse. Plus my GMC Jimmy w/6.2 diesel is probably more in the 20 second range, maybe even more with the 35's. Just for reference, I recently got to drive an 04 or 05 Impala SS (3800 S/C) and thought it was pretty crazy. It was a taxi and I had to pull a craz...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

What's your current 0-60, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm curious, because I'm going to add about 0.3 to 0.5 seconds onto your time to get an idea of what mine could do, in it's current condition.
