They would probably look something like this.

I made out some templates with the help of the euro headlights and had these made out of steel from a tool and die shop.  The headlight capsules aren't actually mounted to them in the pics, they're just resting there so you get the idea.  I'm going to paint them probably tomorrow and I'll get some pics of them installed.  Sorry about the camera phone pics, but i just got home from work and it was convenient.

They're in the process of getting painted right now.  They will be a matte black color (like that color on the hoods of some of the 60s muscle cars, etc.)  They fit as close to perfect as i could ask for.

They look awesome. The matte black paint should look great. You wouldn't happen to have made a cad drawing for both sides showing all the dimensions, bends, etc., would you? I would love to try making a set in our model shop at work. We have a press, a brake and a spot welder.

I almost would have left them in bare steel, but nah.

Looks sweet.

I would've considered leaving them bare if they were stainless, but I didn't think about it at the time and they were expensive even in regular steel.

I was thinking about doing this for a long time, I just finally got motivated.

Heh, I've been working a ton of overtime lately and having to do a bunch of other stuff.  They are black now, but it still needs another coat or so.  I'll get pics soon enough.

Ok, so here's the update with them all painted, the headlight modules mounted.  They're only being held in with one bolt in these pics, but they're just about right.

Hmm... iPhone pics FTL

Hehe... use that nice Nikon of yours ;)

From what I could see of the pics last night, they look like they fit in there perfectly. Good deal!

Are you still going to put a clear cover over everything?

Yeah, I think all camera phones except for that fancy Nokia one pretty much suck. Oh, and it's a Canon, not a nikon.

I'll try out the clear covers if I can find them...  I have no idea where I put them!
