Triple A Piller Gauge Pod

Post by Chad91GTZ »

Hey guys!  I know im not very active on this board, a little more so i would say on some of the other ones, but i need some help.  Lo-Teck said that if I can get twenty pre orders for a triple gauge pod they would start the project.  Price would be 44.59 unpainted and about 6 to ship.  A little more to canada.  I'm sure many of you have the two gauge pod, and I can say i need an extra slot.  So if anyone is interested let me know.  I would like to get started soon!  Thanks a lot guys!

I will definitely be willing to buy one. Maybe two.

I wouldn't mind having one for maybe, A/F then a NOS and Fuel pressure gauge... thats all that seems important to me since I am running juice, but I wish the gauges weren’t so expensive.

Quick question, unless your running boost, what in the world would you need an additional 3 gauges for over a full cluster???  What else is there you need to know or is that important to you.  I have a full cluster and the two pod pillar, 1 gauge is A/F the other is VAC because I couldn’t figure out what else to put there that was worth needing to know.  Am I missing something I should know?  Or that’s within reason of purchasing a gauge, for example exhaust gas temp is a very expensive unit and I still don’t understand its importance if your already running A/F gauge (some people have this gauge).

IIRC, the guys at Lo-Tek couldn't do a three-gauge pod because their machine couldn't handle the odd shape.  I was part of the original pre-order for the two-gauge pillar and that's what I recall...someone correct me if I'm wrong.  I think it would be great to have a three-gauge pod either way because I hate the stock gauges.  It's unbelieveable the difference in accuracy between the stock gauges and the AutoMeter units.

Here, here!
If a three pod becomes available, count me in for two.

A/F gauges are useless.  Get a wideband.

Currently I have my boost gauge and oil pressure installed (supposed to be oil pressure at the turbo itself).  Unfortunately the turbo isnt installed in this car, lol.  Eventually it will be though.

Theres trans temp, oil temp, water temp, fuel pressure (I'd use this one), oil pressure, boost, vacuum, nitrous pressure, tach etc etc etc.

close to 400 bux for a wideband, where its 70 for a A/F gauge... hrmmm I don't need to know the A/F down to the number because I'm comparing it to what the computer wants on a N/A engine so if I add NOS and the LED's go down then I need to up the fuel.  Came in handy once when my fuel pump was dying, no SES light but at full throttle car had no balls and the A/F dropped below lean off the chart lean. For fine tuning I'll double check exact ratio on the dyno, and I can see maybe for a boost application where that would come in handy but way overkill for me.  I would also agree that the autometer gauges respond very nice and are a lot better than the stock setup, but if I already have a gauge there I hate to double up and I hate the look of the base cluster.

I guess add me to the list though...  I'll find something to stuff in there.

You'd probably have more people interested directly after Bfest. I am sure everyone is trying to save up incase if unexpected problems occur along the way.
