base swaybars are smaller diameter than GT swaybars. they are also different from 4 cylinder to v6. GT's are 30mm, you will also have to get new bushings and end links.

And 87/88 GTs with the Z51 option have 32mm front swaybars.

If im not mistaken, it has nothing to do with being a GT or not. It depends on the suspension package. You can have a base, with FE3 suspension package, that would come with a 30mm front swaybar. And in 92 and 93, a GT could be had with FE2 suspension, giving it a 26mm front swaybar. It is a safe bet to say that most GTs came with 30mm, and most bases have the smaller bars, but unless you check the RPO sticker you are just guessing.

Where is the RPO Sticker?
is it possible to have a factory GT with 14" wheels, and a hollow rear sway bar? cause either i was jipped when i bought the car or its just an oddball.

Very true 3400beretta...that's actually really common.

The RPO sticker is on the spare tire cover in the trunk.  GTs came with 14" wheels and hollow swaybar.  The Z51 performance handling package upgraded that to 15" wheels and solid swaybar.

I know a rear bar helps a lot. But I still have the stock skinny bar on the front. I have a super duper large front bar but haven't put it on because i'd have to unbolt the sub-frame/cradle, and don't want to have to get an alignment afterwards if I don't get it bolted back in right.

IIRC the endlinks will work just fine. I compared them from mine to the thicker bar. I have moog polyurathane endlinks.

How does the front feel when beefing it up? My mods are in the signature... The front is pretty stiff, and the rear is too (slides a bit heh).

How big is your super duper large front bar?

The FE7 bar on my '88 GT allowed it to ride better than the stock Z51 bar, but not sure if it handles any better.
