GROUP BUY: Canuck Motorsports Springs '95-96

Post by lmnjlo »

After some research it appears the only springs I can find for my '96 Beretta are Sprint Springs off of Ebay for around $300. I contacted Canuck and asked about Springs for the 95-96 years. They explained that they no longer have any, no surprise there, and that the cost to get the material from the U.S. and to make a set would roughly be around $300. (original cost was $169.95). In any case, they are going to check with their supplier to figure out what it would cost. I explained to them I might have another person or two that might be interested in a set. I will be in contact with them again later on this week or early next week. Would anyone else be interested in a set of 95-96 Beretta Canuck Springs (p/n 2122.42100)??? IF and ONLY IF they are willing to do this, I can get pricing and take care of everything for the group.

****UPDATE: I got a response from Canuck.
"I confirm that 4 orders will need to be placed in order to bring this item back.
The cost is $169.95 and $30 shipping, as long as you are in the US..
If you are in Canada, the cost will be $227.95 and $40 shipping and applicable taxes."

****UPDATE:
I just talked to Canuck. I informed them that we have 3 people that are interested and 1 maybe (chop chop money pit Beretta :) ) They stated that because of the interest they are going to get final numbers and start ordering the material. Also, WHEN we purchase these, Canuck said that I can give them everyones name, email address and mailing address and they will bill everyone directly. I offered to do a group buy and she said that she has no problem taking care of it herself. So...thats cool.

ALSO....because of this interest, they are looking into making some '87-94 springs as well...though they will not be on the same production time as the 95-96, its nice to see that due to our interest as a group they may start making some others as well.

******UPDATE*****
This is from Canuck as of today!!!!

"Hi,
Thank you for your information.
The engineer had confirmed we will stock both years for the Chevy Beretta lowering kits.
The only thing is, production may be a few weeks away, as we are behind in production as it is.
We thank you in advanced for your patience in this matter.
Please forward all information for the parties willing to wait for production.
I will need emails to forward invoices. I will not send invoices until product is ready to ship."

I will send everyones info that I have received today to them. If anyone has interest on the 87-94 year, now is the time to send me your info for those.

***UPDATE****
All info has been submitted. I will let everyone know when I hear something. I will stay on top of this and I have plans on contacting them late this week or next. Maybe I can get a better timeline of events. :)

1) Chad aka lmnjlo (1 set) PAID
2) Jon aka 3X00-Modified Mr Pink (1 set)
3) Tyler aka Slinky (1 set) PAID
4) Mitch aka Money Pit Beretta (1 set)

Why not try a group buy with Eibach like Dante did? The N-body guys might be interested too.

I can try that too. I just didnt think we would have too many with the 95-96 year and know that eibach usually wants a bigger minimum order. BUT....after I find out how many might be interested i can always check with eibach as well.

After reading Dantes group buy I am more than happy to start a group buy with eibach...but we would need 25 people im guessing. Are there 25 people that have '95-96 Berettas or other applications that would want a set of springs? :) I have no problem getting a group buy started for Eibachs.

I can get you the contact information for my rep at Eibach if you would like to pursue that as an option. They may have a little higher minimum order, but you will probably get more traction with buyers because of their pricing.

If they are able to create springs that would allow the Beretta to sit lower than the original Eibach production ride height, I might be interested.

Asking to re-engineer the design they have on file probably wouldn't happen for the same price..

I may be interested in getting another set of Eibach's

Sure...I'll take the contact information for Eibach and I can see where I get.

Just heard back from Canuck. They said that if we have at least 4 orders then they will make them at original cost. So...we just need 3 more people. Anyone?

So 170+ shipping possibly?

If so count me in... Doesn't hurt to have spring choices for Pinky ;)

Only Four and at the original price!

BONUS!

You folks are going to love their product. Had them on my 3500 and they were low, firm, well sprung and no-sag at all over five years of racing.

Great product!

I've had the Canuck's on my '94 for six years. Love them! No saggy butt syndrome either.

However, these will definitely set much lower than the Eibach's!

Depending on stiffness I may try just the fronts... I already have issues with the rear being too low and scuffing because of the width.

Big difference in height uninstalled too. Glad I still have a photo saved...

Keep in mind these are also FE1 '94 springs.
