Engine swap 2.2l to 3.1l
Hello all,
I'm new to the board, new to berettas, and need some help.
My brother just gave me an 89 beretta and a 1995 beretta. The 95 is beautiful. 2.2l 4 cyl 5spd. The 89 is screwed but has a rebuilt 3.1 in it with only 2000km on it. I would like to know if it would be possible to drop the entire 3.1 into the 95 and keep the manual 5spd tranny. If it's even possible, would it be difficult to the point of being not worth it? If this question was answered elsewhere, I apologize.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

You could do it. You would just need all the engine mounting parts for a 3.1 in a 1992 or 1993.

Thanks for the info. The ac unit was seized on the 2.2l. I bypassed it today with a short belt and she's purring like a kitten. I'm going to stick with the 2.2 for awhile I think. You should have seen me lurch my way down the road, I havn't driven standard in about 7 years. It was pathetic.
