Clunking from Transmission
Clunking from Transmission
I am putting this on here in hopes to help my dad out. He got a 95 Z26 that has a 3400 swap with a 5-speed from a 90 GTZ. He is having an issue with the transmission cluncking some times. I drove the car last time I was home, and it seems to do it most when you go to start in 1st. He thinks that maybe the mount on the drivers side is loose, or that something is moving. The mount is welded on and we do not know if it is a factory style mount or not. If anyone has pics of an early 90's car with this transmission, I would appreciate them so that I can see the mount on the drivers side. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if need be, I can get some pics of it this weekend when I am home again.

The trans mount has 3 bolts. 2 on the top and one on the side right behind the strut(looking straight in the wheelwell). It is mounted to the body by one bolt that mounts to the body. I'll see what I can do about pics.

I am still wondering if somebody could get me some pics of the trans mount. Thanks

Yes he did and yes it is. Is this by chance the guy who did the swap?
