Tranny?

Post by customizer007 »

I have a '89 Berreta GT.It has the V6.I am the 2nd owner of this Berreta. It is a well maintaned car. When i purchased the Berreta 1 1/2 yrs ago it had only 80,000 miles.I have had NO probs with the "B" at all until today.
While driving down the interstate.. "drive" went out in the tranny.I thought maybe it might have been low on fluid.I checked the  fluid..it was ok.I still have full reverse,low2 & low 1.Oh yeah...speedo cable is NOT working now.But the tach is working(it runs off the engine..oh course).
So..any help would be awsome!!
I thought maybe the govener went out in the tranny or maybe the torque converter.I am not 100% sure.
Post help here or send me an email:customizer007@yahoo.com

NO!! No abuse....Drive is GONE!! It shifts from L1-L2...but when it is suppose to shift into Drive(3) it acts like it is in Nuetral!!

thats not a normal problem that is easy to diagnos.  Its not a TCC problem if it just acts like its in neutral.  I'd recomend taking it to a trany shop that is trustworthy unless you want to tear it down yourself.

That is a strange one, since Reverse and Drive in an automatic use many of the same mechanics.  Rebuild time.
