the red stripe for our Rear Filler Panels

Post by Wanako »

Ok, here is something I made today for myself and thought I'd make some more because I know many of us will need them. :)

They are the Red Stripes that go on our rear filler panels!! As you may know, many of ours are like mine, crusty, faded and nasty looking.
Like this one:

These will refresh your filler panel and make it look nice again.

I'm thinking $10 including shipping. That's right. $10 will get it to your doorstep.

paypal: keioken20@yahoo.com

I've got 6 sets of them that will cover both sides.

Before and After images. This is someone else's rear filler panel I just did.

Now how f*ckin' awesome does that look?

Now the length is perfect but I overestimated on the height and is like 3 mm too big so you'll have to cut off the excess. Nothing a X-Acto knife can't take care of.
These are automotive-grade sticker vinyl that we use at work, so as long as the surface that you're placing them on is clean,
they definitely won't be coming off that easily. I've made some stickers for myself with the same material and have held damn strong.
Just make sure that after you place them you squeeze out any air bubbles.

Instructions:
1) I would try to get the old material off somehow. You wouldn't want to have that peeling nastiness messing up your new sticker.

2) AIM!

3) After I've got it in the place that I want, I keep it in place I squeegee any air out with either a credit card or squeegee.

4) AFTER you've placed them, then you can cut off any excess material. This is how I did it and it turned out awesome. 8)

5) ????

6) PROFIT!!

*disclaimer!!!* I can't guarantee how well they'll hold for those how go mudding or dirt auto-x'ing *COUGHRYANCOUGH* For normal everyday use, they should hold off damn well. :burn:

I'll see what I can do. I don't have a set of tails to measure because my car won't be with me for a while. As soon as I get it back I'll see what I can do for you.

I would be in if they were reflective and actually cut to the right size! :P

I know. But mine is in good shape, so if I were to replace it, it would only be with reflective tape. Clear fillers might look cool though...

I always thought about doing this with conspicuity tape, but it's so darned expensive if I didn't like it.

I bought some Tyco Reflective automotive tape (700745) Red

I haven't used it as yet 'cause i also bought a brand new Lower for the Quad.

But I am going to retro the original one one of these days.

haha, yea, I got it JUST a tad too big on the vertical dimension. For me it's not big deal, it's an easy fix. Yea these are not reflective, I don't have that material. I did these with my own car and another panel I'm working on in mind but I made extras for you guys in case you wanted them.

Ron, before you send anything, could you measure real quick for me the length of the tail light strip area? I want to make sure it at least has enough area for the taillight before I send you anything. I'm pretty sure it does but I want to be certain. Thanks.

Hey Ron, you still interested in these? I've got two sets left.

If anyone wants a set I can make some more. I'll try to get the measurement more accurate this time.
