Well, nitrous gets along better with high compression than boost does! haha That's why it's still on the to-do list for my 10.55:1 car.

I thought Ben on 60* said that... I was asking around 2 years ago when I was getting the kit together and was told that the ported 3400 heads were better than stock 3500s with boost. But could have been Ben trying to sell me those $1500 heads vs 300 for stock 3500s. :) or me being confused with him talking about intakes...

I gasket matched a 3500 UIM because I was told that the 3500 UIM with the tube thing in the center helps prevent scavenging in 2 cylinders... (Yeah, I know, tube thing is very technical).

I built my turbo y-pipe from a 3100 y-pipe... can I use this y-pipe with 3500? Use my 3100 exhaust manifolds or will that restrict the exhaust too much? Also, just a bolt up swap or need custom length pushrods?

Tell that to my cousin who's running 7.50's on the bottle. 1400hp... 450 of it is spray.

And say what you want... right now my car is the fastest most reliable setup. Rodney has me by about a tenth, but I don't think that car gets driven anywhere near as much as mine does. I actually brought it to work today.

Oh and I typically get blown daily and only bottle it on special occasions... LOL

Either way keeping the compression down to 9.15:1 is a bit better on the engine since I was having Head gasket issues with my old stock 3400 setup... But then again that could have been due to Felpro gaskets and stock head bolts... I now have GM gaskets and ARP studs. I'm sure that helps.

Haha.

My last serious race car burnt to the ground, but It was an ethanol small block, with N2O. Just wanted to bust your chops.

Nitrous is a ton of fun.

So can i use a 3100 y-pipe with 3500 exhaust manifolds? Or 3100 exhaust manifolds on a 3500?

you should be able to. I think they have the same "D" shape exhaust port. Though the 3100 exhaust holes may be smaller than the 3500 exhaust port on the head. I believe the Gen II motors that can't use 3x00 manifolds without modification to the manifold.

If the 3500 manifolds can use the custom 3100 y-pipe i'll be happy, will just have to cut off the mounting flange and weld that up like I did on my 3100...

Yeah yeah you and your 14mph... LOL

Keep the counter weights on the crank though :)

At our current state, and maybe fixed traction issues I think our cars would be a really neat match to watch.

Funny you should say that.. at the current state my car is doing nothing but hemorrhaging oil, and possibly has a connecting rod where it doesn't belong.

I know my car would have been in the 11s given a couple of things - for one I never heated up the slicks, two I should have installed a dump and opened the exhaust, and three, the car used to have a problem getting into second gear sometimes, so its programmed into my mind to take it easy on the 1-2 shift and I know that is killing my ET. But these issues may never get resolved because I'm losing my patience and interest in the car, especially now that it is in need of ANOTHER engine.

As I noted in the NE T-Shirt thread something happened with Eric... If you did not receive parts you ordered from him then I will try to contact him via e-mail again to see whats going on.
