5 speed wanted

Post by pudamobile »

Hey everyone. I think I've decided either not to buy that '96 base in favor of buying perhaps an older beretta with the 5 speed, or to convert it to a 5 speed. it would save me a little on gas as well as be slightly more fun because of the manual tranny. If you know of anyone with an 88-90 beretta with the 3.1 and 5 speed or a 90 GTZ with the 5 speed, that'd be wonderful, but any and all manual berettas would be considered. Thanks everyone.

i just listed my 90 gt for $150  its beat up, and the clutch slips, but it would  be a good bunch of base parts for a buildup/tranny swap for a newer retta.

Hey Erich, what do you mean by "complete set-up?"  I got a '92 GTZ 3.1 auto that I really want to convert to a 5-speed, so I asked around at a local transmission shop to see what parts I would need and this is what they said:

-Axles
-Flywheel
-Clutch
-Master and slave cylinders (w/lines)
-Shift tower
-ECU
-Transmission (obviously)

Does that sound about right for a convert job?  Let me know what you think, I'd definitely be interested if you have a good set-up.

I have a 92 GTZ 5-speed if you're interested. Buy the whole car from me for 1200. All it needs is the motor. Great shape.
