96+ 3.29 or 3.05 Diff

Post by 3X00-Modified »

For a 4t60e, Either ratio, doesn't matter.  If possible I would like the spiders to be checked for galling against the center pin, I have a set I could use in a pinch but a full usable diff would be better.

PM me if you have something!

96+ 3.29 or 3.05 Diff

I'm actually going to be up at the trans shop today.

Billy has a boatload of cores sitting around.

How would I identify the diff you are looking for? (I DO know what a 4t60e looks like)

96+ 3.29 or 3.05 Diff

Looking at the planetary gears, it's a fine pitch and the direction is top right to bottom left ///// like that, and the tooth count of a 3.29 planet (outer gears) is 22 teeth and the sun gear is 34 teeth, the 3.05 is 20 tooth planets and 38 tooth sun gear.  If you have a 3.05 I don't need the sun gear, but if you find a 3.29 I do.

Also there is a pre 96 version the pitch cut is the same but the direction is \\\\\ that way, and I cant use that.  And older than 95 the pitch is coarser so the tooth counts are lower  and those are the 3.33 and 3.06's  Basically what I'm saying is I need a 96+ diff since the older ones are different and cant be interchanged.

This is going to be my set in diff while I send the currently installed 3.05 out to Jeff so the car isn't immobile for a few weeks... I may want to move it around to do other work on it.

OK. We'll have a look and see if we can find one.

Just for fun, what cars did they come in? (I don't know how he inventories his cores.)

OK. I'm going to e-mail Billy the list and if he has some time he can have a look before I get there.

I'll see what I can find.

Well a quick look yesterday came up with everything BUT what you listed.

I won't get back there 'til next week, so if you find one elsewhere, grab it.

Did you try Jeff?

I just sent Jeff my 3.05, and I asked if he had a 3.05 core to begin with because then I just wouldn't have shipped him mine but he didn't... Plus his prices are rather high for cores, so I think I'll hit a j/y since I have no clue when my diff will come back.. I didn't even get a response from him when I sent him an e-mail saying its on its way...
