Shift Knob/ Shifter info?

Post by Asylum »

So I'm really tired of this boring grey blob of a shift knob on my Quad.

What are the options, if any, for an easy and unique replacement?

Oh, and I'd like a Euro Dash Cluster too.
And another beer!

Where the hell did you find an Alero manual trans shift knob?

Did they even come with manuals? Does it just push on like the stock one?

I put a leather Camaro Hurst knob on mine, but I had to cut off the shifter stick and weld on a bolt.

Well I like that Woody, but I can see this is going to be a PITA!!

The stock knob just pulls off, right?

They did come with manuals (I had one) and the manual knob is the same as what would be in a cavalier, etc.. from the same era.

should contain a female head torx bit (T10 ? ) screw. After removed, yank up like you never yanked before...

Unhook the cable, pull the e-clip and the stick comes right out of the shifter. Pretty easy.

Rodney Dickman (I wanna change my name to Rodney Dickman) sells a "Hurst" stick (stick only) for Fieros. Will that bolt in place of ours?

For that matter are all the Getrag shifters basically the same, or are the Fiero ones "ass-backwards"?

The Fiero shifters are backwards, but it looks like that stick would work in the stock shifter.

I have a shifter from a Grand Am that will bolt directly into the Berettas and allow you to use a threaded shifter knob. If you're interested, I can get you a shipping quote to Canada.

A shifter or just a stick? I already have the Dickman rebuild/shim kit for the shifter that has been sitting here forever.
