This is false from my experience.  90 and 93 are the slowest GTZ's.  93 due to HP (175) and 90 due to gearing.

91 is 180 HP with revised gearing and 3.61 FDR
92 is 180 HP with revised gearing (different than 91) and 3.94 FDR.

I heard rumors that some GTZ's in 1990 had over 185 HP , When I had mine dynoed I made 152 WHP with it completly stock with 85000 miles on it . No doubt the 92 had the better gearing .

What about the 3.4L indy for the 500! That had to go pretty fast no? I mean come on it went around a track with the indy cars! I think that car would have some serious power! I say we go steal it from the museum and hide it somewhere so true beretta fans can droll over it. And maybe take it to bfest and race it

There are a few berettas on this board that are faster than that one.

Quote (Ribz80 @ May 17 2004,15:21)Yeah Buls, about 52-5300.  And a Corsica 3100 CAN do 16.1 and 8ish to 60 from what I have seen.  But those are top running excellent examples.  A 16.4 and 8.3-4 to 60 is more common.  If your doing 0-60 in 9 with a 3100 car something is wrong hehe.
Motor Trend got 0-60 in 9.0 and 16.6 out of the 94 Z26 they tested IIRC.

Now, since that's a little slow, (most will go 16.4 or so), I expect high 8 second 0-60 runs...........

That is where my logic comes from.

And I'd like to see some times from said Corsica............the last guy that swore he'd run low 16's or high 15's (Cayenne Beretta I think his name was), went 16.7 at the Memphis Bfest.

Then stock Indys have a basic 3.1.  The actual Indy engine can't be considered stock as it wasn't even a production engine.

I see your logic.  However do you think they drove it using the methods that we know work best?  The 3.1 has stronger 0-60 numbers then its 1/4 suggests due to its tq and gearing.  It is not AS good in the 3100 due to the granny tranny I admit.  But still in MY opinion a stock 3100 car can do 0-60 in 8.5 without a problem using the techniques we know work.  And I can only talk about what I have seen at Englishtown.  Only cars running 16.7 or higher have been 2.8 autos.

I remember reading that somewhere in a magazine article I got off ebay when I had my GTZ. I think it was Hot Rod that said the 180hp number came from a Cutlass or Grand Am and the Beretta had a less restrictive exhaust.
I'd want a 92 Quad if I got another one. Cruising at 70 I was always turning about 3000rpms and I'd like to see that lower. I also would like to be quicker off the line than mine was. I got owned by an 88-9 GT in Utica going from stoplight to stoplight. Would've whipped his ### if we had a nice straight stretch though.

Hrmm, Fastest stock i would say is the GTZ.. Mine definitly took off faster then my Z26 with the 4t60-E ( i hate that tranny too long of gears)  sadly nothign on my GTZ worked right whent he motor still worked so you actually went faster when you let off the gas peddle LOL

Boost is addictive, more boost is more addictive
90 TSI FWD: will get fixed someday.. maybe..
86 conquest TSi: The new toy,  boosted RWD is fun.. till you snap lug nut studs although no 1st gear kinda SUCKS!
95 Beretta Z26: i don't think i'll ever get rid of this thing, i've tried already.

Around a 3.0L V-8 FWD GM Beretta Prototype.  Pics are out there.  It was featured with several other prototype Beretta's in Hot Rod several years ago.
