New best time?

Post by Asylum »

Took a trip up to TMP tonight for the Test and Tune session.

Perfect conditions, it's only 30 minutes away, and hell, I had nothing better to do.

Here's the problem. Best all night, exhaust OPEN was 14.329 @ 97.13 mph

I'm REALLY beginning to believe the 13 second times (both) were either flukes, or just timing errors.

I threw everything this thing had to the wind, varried shift points, traction was NOT an issue, and that is what it ran. And it's running about as well as it ever has!

Now that is still pretty quick, but I may have some humble pie to down if I can't back this up pretty damn soon.

More to come on the weekend. I have two pretty important outings with this thing, so I'll see.

For now I am modifying my sig and removing all reference to 13 second times, until I can replicate them.

As always, the good with the bad!!

And this is BAD!

Damn man how much weight did ya gain over the short period of time?  Did your fuel tank have more than the last runs?

I have actually lost a couple of pounds. LOL

It's not a weight issue. The car is exactly the same.

I have been around enough race cars over the years to know when there is something amiss, and it's not with this car. It's running great.

60' times are consistent, along with everything else.

I made 11 runs last night in almost perfect conditions.

Best was 14.329 @ 97.13 shifting at 6000 RPM

Worst was 14.407 @ 95.98 shifting at 6200 RPM

That is just what the car has, and quite frankly that is what it should have.

So there ya' go folks.

So did you ever get that new fuel pump in?

I want that car to be a 13.xx car!

I'm not putting a new fuel pump in this car.

I will put a Walpro in the new one when I get it up here.

This one will see the TCE 65 mm TB sooner or later to replace the MRZ 62 mm unit that is on there now.

There are only 4 Points races left,  then the B'Fest NE thing, and this car is DONE!

Everything gets freshened up and transplanted to the new Cali car over the winter.
