Went to the track last weekend..

Post by Slinky »

Went to the track this weekend with my slicks on, by the 3rd burnout I was able to feel the new tires actually start to grip. I still need to work on my throttle modulation and also test different rpm launches.. Not bad for a home made supercharger kit and my 5th ever pass at the track. (Ignore my reaction time)

As I said before, very nice. Post your wheel and tire info here so it doesn't get lost on Facebook. 8.5 M&H bias ply slick I remember on a custom wheel.

Plucked this from your FB post.

My best 60' was a 1.85 when I pulled my 12.67@107

I was pulling 1.97 60' N/A in Oct 2015. I don't have my most recent slips on me from MO but I don't think those 60' times were anything special, or better than my best so far.

Need more seat time and I'm sure that time will come down. Ready to humor my idea yet that your TQ converter is too loose and that's why your just ripping rubber off the line? :) I know you don't want to change converters but hey you have a full climate controlled garage now... NO BITCHING! ;)

The wheels I ran are custom made Keizer billet 2 piece, they weigh 12.5lbs each, the tires are M&H bias ply 15x8.5, total combined weight 27lbs each per side.
I had to have a custom wheels made to fit over my front wilwood 12.25" brakes and be able to run a full 15" slick.
I launched around 3500rpm and still spinning some, I will be working on that the next time I get to go to the track.
My mph actually dropped from a 13.42@106 (2.1 60') with street tires to this 12.90@104mph (1.89 60') due to I believe my slicks being 1/2" minimum shorter.
I hope to have alot more track time before I think about playing musical torque convertors.

You can try new torque converters every run just by changing your left foot on the third pedal.
