2009 Results (so far)

Post by Asylum »

I tried to post this last night and it wouldn't let me , or it appeared.

If it comes up twice, sorry, but it seems this new format hates me.

I really don't have any intention of racing the 3500 much this year, however the weather was perfect, St Thomas was having a 2 Day Bracket Event, and rather than concern myself with turning the cesspool in my backyard back into a swimming pool, the car was the more attractive option.

Lost in the Final on Saturday, and slept my way to an embarrassing .192 light in the Second Round on Sunday. DUH on me!

However I won the "Closest to the Dial" Competition Sunday with a 14.3680 on a 14.36, and a .009 R/T.

So $50 Saturday and $160 on Sunday. Not a bad weekend.

And the numbers that matter. New best of 14.31 and 96.56 mph through the 2 1/4" crush bent exhaust and two mufflers, and a 2.01 60' time.

Kerri ("beretta-bitch" from B'Stuff) has pics and video if she ever figures out Photobucket, LOL. And she created a Run Log thingy on her laptop which is pretty neat.

That is probably it for a few weeks, but it is a little encouraging through the mufflers.

Now to corral Rodney and have him re-think this chip perhaps??

Good to hear things are running smoothly :good: By any chance will you be @ TMP next Sun May 31 for the CSCS season opener? Marc and I will be there and hope to see you too, it's been a while.

I'll be there!!

I wasn't going to bother, but to get together, I can get this thing ready.

You know where I like to park.

Weather dependent of course, but I'll get the car ready.

Maybe I'll see if Kerri "beretta-bitch" is interested.

After 11 hours in the office and a 2 1/2 hour dinner meeting with my boss, NO I didn't manage to figure out photobucket and upload the pics...but I will...eventually.

I did however play with your time spreadsheet some more and have now created a line graph tracking your run times. Maybe I'll get adventurous tomorrow and add in the R/T's...lol

That's a decent trap through the mufflers. On the dyno at Bfest I'll be comparing a full 2.5" exhaust to an open cutout just after the headers to see the power difference. I know it's gonna be a lot. I can't remember, do you have a cut out?

I talked to Rodney about getting a chip for my project and he said he's absolutely swamped & couldnt do it. I hope you have better luck!

I have a cut-out but they won't let me open it, and by the time I'm done for the day I either forget to make a late Time Trial, or I'm too tired to bother.

The three local tracks are all running "True Street" this year and insist on closed exhaust.

But I would be really interested in a "same day" comparison.

I'll speak to Rodney when I track him down, but I do know he is really busy with his school/work stuff at least until the Fall, and getting his car done.

You just have to provide him with enough beer and pretty women to take his mind off things, ROFL!

Ben at 60degree now has a 3400 5-speed chip available.

Maybe talk to him about it. And Superdave has a burner as well and seems to know what he is doing, LOL!

I gained 3mph with my same-day cutout testing at Lebanon.

I bought my project car with a 3400 chip already installed from scott0999 and am having Dave burn me one as well. I figure I'll try both chips on the dyno at Bfest and then make another pull with the cut out open on the best chip.

Okay...I'm going to attempt this...but I have no idea what I'm doing.

I have posted a couple of photos and a video from the weekend in St. Thomas. I need a better camera though :)

3 mph sounds about right in keeping with the best of 99.14 with the dump open. It's the ET I would be most interested in. The number that keeps being suggested is 3/10ths, however I am of the opinion it's perhaps not that much.

Neat video!

The Mustang Red Lighted big time, but I caught him in the top end. (14.36)

My ET was a good 2-3 tenths better with the cutout open. (15.26 best closed - 14.94 best open). In my case it gave me better 60's as well as the top end increase because the tires bit instead of spinning. So the loss of low-end torque was a plus. This may not be the case with your car though, because mine still had the stock (shitty) 4t60e torque converter and gears.

Well Rodney put in a new chip last night and I am going to run it open at the CSCS Event this Sunday at Cayuga, so I guess it should be interesting.

He said he added a bunch of low end timing and fuel (I was complaining the car felt sluggish off the line).

But in all honesty I really have no idea what the hell he is doing, LOL! :unknown:

I made that chip for Eric last october, we just haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I'm interested to see how it does, because I don't really remember all of the changes I made, LOL!
