WOW! Got a quick reply

"THEY" say M2000 expires in 2012 contrary to NHRA.

A fire jacket meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/1 or better is required with Nitrous.

Edit* Ordered a Summit jacket... 2 day shipping... Bastards on bstuff said it wasn't needed.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this, but I wanted to double check with the track to make sure my rules weren't outdated. They do NOT require a jacket for nitrous, and there's really no other special rules specifically for nitrous use. A jacket and full suit is required if your ET will be 11.49 or under, or trapping over 135 mph. But if anyone is at that level, there's a whole other set of rules, as that's basically the line between a fast street car and a slow race car.

The GLD tech actually said the same thing to me... "What's the jacket going to help without a full suit?"
Thank you for checking. Is the helmet rule still a snell 95 or newer? I have a Snell M2000 helmet and that's always been good before, but last year a LVD they also said last year was the last year for that helmet... Others say its good till 2012. LVD screwed up their rules last year.

Thats what someone replied with on Bstuff....

But yeah I grabbed a $54 summit jacket SFI spec 3.2A/1. Better safe than sorry. I got lucky last time and Woody had a jacket at Lebanon, otherwise I would have been SOL, and since he's a no show this year then I'm on my own.

EDIT* Yeah F-you... to slow on my reply

EDIT: Found the section on jackets on the NHRA website.

Section 1A, Page 65 of the 2009 NHRA Rulebook states,

"10.00 second (6.40 1/8 mile) and slower cars with aftermarket/non-OEM turbochargers, superchargers or Nitrous Oxide injection require a jacket meeting SFI 3.2/1 or better"

Turbo guys please note! You are going to need a jacket!

This should probably go on B'Stuff as well.
