Went to the track today...

Post by 3400beretta »

So against my better judgement I went to the final CSCS event today at toronto motorsports park, and got a whopping 4 runs in for $40. This was my first time out on the new Code 59 bin that I finally got (sorta) figured out. Driveabilty is 100% better, and overal code59 is far far superior to 8F. Anyways, heres my best pass for the day for all those non believers out there..matched my ET from last year, but the MPH is up. This was with a full tank of gas, slicks at 10psi but no burnouts, and leaving the line at about 2,000 rpm and easing into it. And ZERO VHT on the track. Oh and boost was at about 14 psi.

Also had a pass at 12.54 @ 121 MPH, but that slip seems to have dissappeared.

It's amazing what 14psi will do to a 9.8:1 compression motor.

I can't wait till I actually start spraying a real 100 shot :)

I keep hearing code59 is awesome. I guess being N/A it doesnt really matter for me though. haha

Glad to see you got the car back out there!

code 59 supports positive pressure as far as what the MAP sensor can see.

What I'm saying is a 3-bar MAP is pretty pointless for me.

Heres my first pass of the day, running no boost controller, so just 6 psi. I think I should go and do some dyno tuning.. as the car has a lot left in it I think.

And there are people running 59 on N/A apps.. the autotune and wideband features make it very attractive.. but I think that A1 is a good code and unless you're looking for the easy way out its best just to stick with it.

I miss interpreted your "hearing" of the awesomeness as not knowing what was so good for boosted guys.

Rodney... no spin on that 13.007@114 slip? That's really odd that you got a similar time as me, but way higher MPH

What was your mph Jon? Yeah there was still some tire spinning going on. Like I said, I am not launching the car like I should be. Im also not heating up the slicks, because I don't trust that Team Green insert and I do not want to be picking up pieces of my tranny at the starting line, lol.

Edit: duh, see the MPH in your sig Jon. Also maybe because you don't get into the nitrous until part way down the track is why your mph is lower? I dunno.

Oh and for those that know him, Mars was there with his supercharged 3400 cavy. He ran a 11.9x @ 124 MPH. I know he shows no mercy to his car, and if I let him drive my car, he could probably bust off a low 12 second pass.

I start spraying pretty quick, so I can only assume with equating turbo lag and that jazz, that the boost in power is just about the same point... although I could be off.

That's one other reason why I want to get my home made timer installed, then I can dial in a perfect delay for when I go WOT to when the nitrous engages.

Whats wrong with the TG insert... LOL :)

At the worst you'll just fuse your spiders to your diff and not really explode it... not till the next pass at least.

Well Mars is rather merciless on his car, but he also has a trailer to get it home if it breaks.

Rodney's car should be well into the 11's with that mph. I'm gonna have to bug him to heat those tires or something. And one of the reasons I wasn't all that excited about going (other than the fact I didn't get my fat arse out of bed in time) is that Cayuga (TMP) is REALLY slack on track prep lately.

That and I really don't know what to expect until the new wideband O2 gets here, or I put a stock one back in.

There's a couple more shots on October 2nd and October 17th when they have money classes and the track will be prepped.

I like 8F for my cavalier though. It runs alright on it but it's messed up.

That's an impressive beretta man ! awsome !!
