Auto pic resizing.

Post by Wanako »

I was wondering if there is a way to implement an auto-resizer for posted images, similar to the one BStuff had. That way we can post hi-res images, but the board automatically resizes them for your screen. I think it would be a good addition, if possible.

It does that already I just have a cap on the file size

It doesn't do an inline scale because that tends to screw with the boards css and break things.

unless you are running an insane resolution anything over a 5mp image is going to scale in your browser, and since most p&s cameras these days are 8+ I'm going to leave it how it is. 90% of the people that upload images don't scale or crop them anyway. I can change the thumbnail size a bit though.

oh i see! so putting them as an attachment to the post will resize them. I've always been linking form my photobucket account like most do. Well at least I know this is here.

Hey Will, now when I try to link a pic from my photobucket account it tells me it can only be 640x480.

I normally don't have an issue with it at home, but when on my netbook, THAT's what it drives me nuts. 1024x600 res must not let things fit.

One reason I resize my pics before sharing. The normal res of my pics is way too damn big really.

You know, I never thought I would like using a netbook, but to be totally honest, I actually like the damn thing...

Not the best keyboard, hate the mouse on it at times, but it literally does what I need a laptop/etc to do.

Atom 1.6 dual core...
2GB DDR 2 800...
320 GB Hitachi 7200 RPM drive (that is what really kicked this thing in a notch. The 5400 160GB drive it had was slow in comparison)
Windows 7 Premium 32 bit. No need for 64 with a 2GB RAM ceiling...

Actually quite speedy, haven't had issues with it really. I even can do DVD recodes, image rips, and it isn't much slower at it then the system I use daily in my office. And getting 5-7 hours out of a battery is nice, not to mention having digital movies on it for the kids while traveling... LOL

Anyways.

Just sucks, some pages are too big on it, have to scroll, pain in the arse... :P
