Center of front hub to bottom of steering wheel in driving position is ~43"
Center of hub to shift knob in neutral is ~40"
This is as measured from outside the car.
FWIW.

I think the power to weight ratio is ideal for this.themixer wrote:i would be strapping a seat to that frame and going for a rip.

I honestly wish I was, but it's just "abit" too far for me right now.3X00-Modified wrote:Someone's got some time on his hands... Should be spending it coming to bfest tho.Asylum wrote:Center of front hub to bottom of steering wheel in driving position is ~43"

Hoping for something more NE next year, or here is a STUPID, RANDOM, RIDICULOUS and WE-ONLY-WISH, THOUGHT!"
B'Fest at Carlisle! Same weekend and a Hell of a Car Show!
(My Proxy Proposal?)
They welcome smaller club participation, and what a GREAT reason to attend!
OK. My Bad! Not allowed to question the Beretta Gods!
But I'm 64 in two weeks! Like I care!
Drive safely everyone, be safe and take lots of pics!
See ya all next year!
The GTZ is locked away in "The Vault" and not going anywhere for a good while. Maybe a weekend run to charge the battery on a Sunday afternoon on a really nice day and use up some fuel, but that is about it.
VERY, VERY, OFF-TOPIC!! My Bad!

I also think the seating position wont be off a lot, if at all...
Beretta driving position is pretty much in the middle.

I've mentioned this before... It eliminates the trouble of getting a venue and whatnot... Someone should propose it.Asylum wrote:

@ Asylum and GTZfan : Thanks for the measurements and the comparison pics.....from my "eyeball" side view measurement with a tape measure the hub to the steering wheel and shifter seems to be aprox 45 in...... so really only 2 inches further back than the Beretta steering wheel and 5 inches further back than the beretta shifter.
so @ bonecrusher the difference in seating position will be pushed back a little but defiantly not look ridiculous.....like opening the door and driving from the back seat......hahahahah.... but i defiantly had wondered about that...... and everything will maintain the relationship to each other because im using all Camaro steering column, shifter and seat.....
@90GTZHO i will most likely be ready to start test fitting the body in a month ....i still need to install the drop springs in the front of the camaro. then its just a matter of finishing cutting out the floor pan and wiper cowl in the beretta... which shouldn't take long. im still tossing around the ideas of how to lift or suspend the body while dropping it on the chassis... might have to install a 2 post lift in the garage ....or run an I beam and some chain falls ....... still not sure yet.... but im hoping in a month the two will become one and it will become just a matter of sealing it up and getting all the systems functioning again..... which the list is long.... too long to even attempt to list....

Re: Beretta Z28
I second this question too. Be awesome to maintain the Beretta dash, just to mess with people, just to claim "shes stock" lol

Re: Beretta Z28
I may attempt to put put beretta dash in .....most likely just do a simple bent aluminum cover ..... not really sure yet but kinda depends on how the camaro firewall intersects with the beretta cowl and how much of it I want to save
Re: Beretta Z28
well the roller didnt last long..........Removed front suspension in prep for the new 1" lowering springs .....which I am afraid wont be low enough and Stiff enough........... might see if there are some spring and shock combo that will be more like a 2 or 3 in drop........what to do??????
Re: Beretta Z28
Chopping down the perches to accommodate aftermarket coil-overs made for another platform mike suffice? Shocks are not hard to custom order, just expect 600 for a pair made to fit for a decent pair.

Re: Beretta Z28
The steering wheel will not be an issue placement wise and you can get any number of shifters with all sorts of offsets and such to put it wherever you want it.
Heck Tremac/Summit/American Powertrain etc. must have a dozen different shift handles to satisfy almost any application. You will want that shifter to be where it's comfortable!!
Looks good!!
