I'm sorry, but that cover is bothering the hell out of me by being slanted like that!
Yeah, that was pure laziness on my part. I haven't trimmed the side where it rides on the modified PS line. Soon enough.

You know it lol, But im not that impressed with them. The brackets weren't done correct from the factory the bolt holes arn't spaced out perfect and the sides got more taken off then normal they should still be fine though just wanted to point that out before anyone said anything.

I cant wait to see them on the car myself! .. but the Shoguns are going to be the last thing put on the car. I dont want to chance them getting scratched up while all the work is getting done to the car.heavywoody wrote:I need to see the wheels on it's new home!

Re: The trip into the
In reply to Eric Brennan and Eric wood..
We are all young and dumb at some point. I still remember the thread I made on bstuff about finding this car and trailering it 5-6 hours home. When I made that thread, I STILL couldnt believe I found a Quad 4 Z26 in a junkyard that just needed a little work (core support was bent down where the previous owner jumped on the hood like a jackass just because the motor blew). The title was still clean. The owner of the junkyard in Kentucky was good friends with my Ex GF's Stepdad. As soon as it came in I got a phone call that I should come check out this "Beretta GT" they just got in. I went and checked it out and obviously knew it was a Z26 with missing Z26 decals.. I walked around it and saw it was in damn nice shape. It has dark tinted windows so couldnt see the interior. Before I opened the door I figured it was just another 3100 Auto Beretta like they all are.. then saw the 5 speed shifter and my jaw dropped!! Popped the hood and was in shock of the car that was sitting in front of me. I then went back in the office to talk to the owner of the yard and asked if it had a clean title.. He said yes. Took the car on a little test drive down their driveway (was still driveable but had a bad headgasket, I was mostly checking that everything worked).. Asked the guy how much.. 475 out the door my car!
Here are the first three pics I ever took of the car..
The owner of the junkyard told me he was letting me have first chance at it, otherwise it was about to be a dirt track car.
Then came all the responses in that Bstuff thread.. saying things like "RIP Quad Z26", "Poor Z will be in a junkyard in a month", "Sucks the wrong guy got it" etc etc..
Killed me. I was not the same person that I was when I first joined. I wish the thread was still around... but I do remember Dan Duncan being one of the harsher people in that thread. Cant wait to meet him in person!!!!!!!! (Just to show him the car and that it was saved)
Anyways, thanks for the kind words. This car has been completely redone top to bottom. I bought it in 2009 but didnt have the money to get it running right away.. I then disassembled everything on the exterior and went to town with a wire brush attachment on my power drill then repainted it all to get arid of all the slight surface rust.. then pulled the interior and did the same thing by undercoating the floor board. The car only has one super small bubble under the paint in the passenger door jam but the underside of the rockers are clean. I finally got it running and road worthy a month before Bfest 2011.
Next time I am up by my Z I will post pics.. but it has factory 91 black carpet, a pillars and headliner in it. I think its a great Black/Grey two tone.

Re: The trip into the
Finally back to the show!
Huge thanks to Woody90GTZ for emailing the design!
My uncle over at H.B. Products cut out the 3X00 5 speed "T" engine mount I need.
One is 94QuadZ26s (I think that's his username?) One is getting shipped to Alex for powdercoat and the third I'm using until I get the powdercoated one back.
More progress to come this weekend hopefully.

Re: The trip into the "big leagues"
I call BS on that. A stock Quad 4 Z isn't worth anywhere near 10K, maybe 3 if you're really lucky.

You on drugs?
I may in fact have the nicest Quad in Ontario and it's not worth anywhere near $10K.
However I could probably live without it if you have the money burning a hole in your pocket.

Re: The trip into the
Started getting some grinding done to the motor mount. Still have to round and smooth the edges some. Monday the holes are all getting drilled out to the same size as the original mount.

Re: The trip into the "big leagues"
Looking good. I made the holes undersize so they could be drilled. Laser cut holes are usually garbage. haha

Re: The trip into the "big leagues"
The mint dash with 96 harness and gauge cluster already in it thats going in the Z..
All that was yesterday.. Then today James came over and we put the getrag on the motor again.. mostly double checking where I am getting the holes drilled and tapped on the trans for the 88 GT jackshaft.
I have now decided after looking at it that the trans definitely needs painted haha.
This week alot is happening..
The lower motor mount for the dogbone will be modified.. (drilled one inch forward with a flanged nut welded on so the dogbone mount will be bolted in like factory.)
The trans will have the holes drilled and tapped for the 88 GT jackshaft to bolt on.. also the aluminum bracket will be drilled an 1/8 inch up on both the mounting holes to the motor so it will bolt up nicely.
Then all the brackets will be painted and done along with the trans getting paint.
HOPING I get the 3500 upper by mid this week so I can take it to H.B. Products to get the EGR holes welded in.
Then have to paint that. lol
More to come!!!
