Re: The trip into the "big leagues"
Small update:
Got the 3X00 5 speed T mount drilled to correct hole sizes.. did more filing/grinding then sandblasted it. Looks like a factory mount now lol
Then for the lower mount that the dogbone bolts to.. I had a flanged nut welded to the back side 1 inch forward to match the T mount. At first I was just going to use a bolt with a nut to use a wrench to tighten it.. but it will be easier this was so the dogbone bolts in like factory.
The holes and nut without a bolt in it is the stock one, the hole and nut that has a bolt in it is what I had drilled/welded
Getting the trans done tomorrow. More pics to come!

Re: The trip into the
Yeah the weld isnt the greatest but I didn't have to pay anything to get it done so.. the weld is strong that's all that really matters.
Dropped off the trans and 88 GT jackshaft to get holes drilled/tapped on the trans and holes modified on the jackshaft bracket.
Got the 3500 upper intake in the mail today, dropping that off at HB products tomorrow to get the EGR holes filled.
Lastly for now, went to a local yards and picked up all the trailblazer Injectors I need. I was going to get a 99 grand am ministarter but they wanted 45 plus core for one. Passed on that for now.

It's coming along, that's for sure. It'll be nice to see this car back on the road!

Good News!!!!!!!!!! Getting super excited!!
This arrived wayy sooner than I thought it would!
(spec clutch)
Then the trans is done! Holes drilled and tapped for the 88 GT Jackshaft to bolt to the trans. Also had the aluminum bracket modified to fit but forgot to get a pic
Its on like Donkey Kong this weekend! I have EVERYTHING!!! I was surprised that the clutch showed up early and the trans was done as quick as it was.
This weekend hoping to get the V6 Getrag put in, 3500 put in (minus the upper and stuff like that, but at least the motor itself), 96 OBD2 dash harness, 97 Monte ECM, mint dash, new steering rack and get the engine harness swapped.
Tomorrow dropping off the blower box or whatever its called to get sandblasted so I can paint it. It would be a shame to do all this work painting everything under the hood then have a rusty blower box lol..

Re: The trip into the "big leagues"
Spec 2+ I see...I'm running the same clutch. Did you get a braided stainless slave line for it? I killed my Spec 2 in one day at the strip with the stock nylon slave line with its restriction bulb. The 2+ has been great with the braided line.

Didn't know about the braided stainless line.. where do you buy it from? Would need some kind of adapter fittings if I went that route.woody90gtz wrote:Spec 2+ I see...I'm running the same clutch. Re: The trip into the
Not much progress today.
Dropped off the blower box to get sandblasted. Also picked up the flywheel from AutoZone.
I been ignoring the daily driver.. haven't touched it in 2 months besides the monthly oil change and driving it. The lip spoiler was falling off so I pulled it the rest of the way off and washed the car. Needs the calipers repainted, polished and waxed but it will be awhile before I have time do to that.
(not where I live, picture taken while at work lol)
