It's in pretty nice shape. Always get compliments on how it looks like new when its cleaned up. Interior is basically perfect excet the dash is starting to lift around the defroster vent now though. Very happy when I got the chance to tint the tails/fillers/side markers and plastidip the wheels since I was getting tired of the ugly cracked tails and the lack of contrast on it.

Original owner owned it most of its life and it was always garage kept up until I got it a few months ago. Hopefully the paint and interior hold up to being exposed 24/7.

That's probably more on the money. I heard 14.8s-15.2s depending on the magazine/driver but low-mid 15s seems much more realistic. I'll have to look around here and see if you have pics of your 90 gtz since I'd be interested in seeing it.

Wish I could find a picture that does the tail tint more justice. Looks much better and mirror-ish in person.

Dumb question. How do you remove the spoiler? I removed 6 bolts and the two outer studs broke (so technically 8 removed) are there some hidden bolts or something? it doesn't even feel like its loose. I wanna remove it and re-paint it as the spoiler paint is weirdly cracked on top of it looking even though the rest of the GTZ's paint is perfect.

EDIT: Got it they were hidden under rubber things. All four outer studs broke free. Any ideas?

the studs broke in the spoiler? if thats the case just rip it off with the least amount of damage to your trunk lid. Finding a replacement spoiler will be easier than trying to repair broken studs

You'd think replacing a spoiler is easy but I've been looking for a Z26 spoiler for a while now and no one has one, they are all afraid to remove something from a JY or they are broken there already.

I used a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel and cut through the nut parallel to the center-line of the stud.
Then I was able to grip the end of the stud with a vise grip and loosen the nut and twist it off.
Or you could cut both sides of the nut, pop those off and the stud will be free.
When re-installing, I just super glued the stud in, cleaned the threads as best as I could, greased the stud
and put on a new nut but only tightened it snug so I'd be able to get it off again if needed.
Drilling the nut with a small drill in several places and then maybe gently chisel it to break off the nut might
work too. I've done that on larger rusted nuts.

I have 2 z26 spoilers lying around my garage if you're still interested. It's been awhile since I've seen them personally, but I recall them being in good condition (i.e. no cracks and such), I wouldn't say they're mint though. Just let me know and I can go dig them out and snap some pics for you.

Should I just drill the studs out? (can replace the studs easily. and i have some of that steel infused plastic weld stuff to attatch the new studs with)

Sucks it was only the outer ones that broke free and they all broke free when they were getting loose.

Looks like a clean car!
However I wonder how the common rust spots look like. That small sheetmetal unter the trunk behind the back bumper doesnt look that great.
I hope you are lucky and the rear subframe (above the axle), espcially where the exhaust passes by, the rear spring and shock mounting points, the rocker panels and the firewall look good.

Very nice rust-wise. Rockers are perfect not a spec of rust. Perches are in decent-good shape should have attention for it to stay perfect. Subframes and everything else is perfect not a spec of rust. Odd enough the "rocker" inside the doors both have rust at the front (from leaves sitting there) but its perfect inside the rockers (looked very closely) very weird situation. Gonna cut the rust out of the jambs and sandblast the inside to be sure nothing gets locked in and weld in new metal.

Car is beautiful underneath other than the bit of surface rust on that panel thing the bumper attatches to but the bumper itself is great. Gonna get it on the lift again and take more pics sometime soon I think

Would there be any point in swapping to a W41 chip/ecm/prom? Would it mess anything up? any useful gains?

ECM and/or mem-cal the culprit?

Maybe the ECM was serviced before (has scuffs, bolts appeared like they were slightly stripped or something and there was a recipt shoved up beside it for cluster problems from a garage from like 1996 or something.)

ECM sticker says:

To recap: Almost the whole time I've had it its been throwing code 43, looses power and now recently it stumbles on acceleration, load and shuts down randomly, runs fine when started back up for a bit usually then starts back over again, the symptoms seem to align with it retarding the timing too far. Whole ignition system is new, new KS, new ICM wiring, new KS wiring, and tons of other new parts that I can name if it'll help, more info on the Q4 forums. Not pinging or anything. KS and its wiring tested good as seen in the Q4 link.

Has only thrown 43 since IIRC late December or january. has the infamous firewall leak too (gonna fix ASAP, leaves a literal puddle on the drivers side floor! amazing there is no musty oder or anything, probably because I dry it right away)

Thinking I might go with a junkyard unit (would be first non-new part on it lol) if I can get it cheap enough and if they include the MEMCAL since they need ordered from the manufacturer and it'll take a good bit of time.

Put a eggcrate grille on it from a base model that i got from the junkyard yesterday
