I guess I should post this for those who aren't on facebook as well as a better location to make it searchable if anyone cares. :)

SO as some know I showed up at Bfest this year on Wednesday and My wife showed up unannounced on Thursday in our 1990 Indy that we picked up back in Aug of 2012... Yeah I've kept it hidden that long :) I forgot it was that long too!

Found it on craigslist in Coram NY and I tried contacting the owner, I did not get a reply so Amy tried and she got a response because she sounded like she was truly interested in the car... I guess I worded something wrong lol...

Car all loaded up on the trailer... We drove down with the trailer expecting to just buy it after negotiation because the pics of the condition were that good.
IMAG0724.JPG
Car had been painted at one time, that was the only downfall... The trunk and hood were done very poorly so I knew I had to get those re-done... The right side GFX was also hit at one point and flexed and cracked off the paint so that had to be re-done/replaced. The big "Problem" with the car was a bad injector that was preventing it from running properly.

Home off the trailer...

Already had rears because the first set of Saabs I bought for the 96 were too long for it and are direct bolt in for the 90.

ORIGINAL AC delco plugs... Another reason why it ran like crap, in conjunction with the original wires.

Bfest Prep, still need to get hood painted and full suspension upgraded but back to running properly... New wires new plugs, new crank sensor, new oil pan gasket new valve cover gaskets new EGR.

I will post other photos as other stuff is done to it.

I plan on pulling the engine eventually doing a full freshen and maybe slipping in a new Crane H-272-2 cam in there, a set of 1.6 roller rockers, as well as making a set of my TOG headers fit it... Unless I fall upon the parts it will probably remain an auto though.

Cool.
if you swap to a manual will you entertain a 3x00 swap?

Probably not, I want to keep it visually original with the 3.1, Plus not many play with the 3.1 and I'm not out to make a race car from it.. just get some more pep from the ole MPFI to match the handling. But make it so when I bring it to a show it still fits the bill as it did from the factory.

I'd say the decals should have been a give away. I always wondered a little why you were making them. You do alot of work for others, so I just blew it off.
LOL, my first thought was when did he get that? In the old days people would have let it slip here at some point.
Guess I'd better get with the times.......NAH. I'm always getting on the boat when it's sinking.

I still have a really nice set of "clear fillers" if you want them.
I also need a shipping address for a whole whack of stuff I saved from the/my "old life".
Nice car Jon!!!

I like all the beretta porn... Lol

Good job fixing her up. Would be nice if it had the turbo engine of that era.

Don't forget, this car won best of Bfest this year!

The car was great in person. Dash is in nice shape compared to how they usually are lol

I have a replacement dash lined up for it... Thanks for all the comments... Due to working on Tylers car about 75% of what I did to this was done two weeks prior to bfest... I got the resprayed parts back 2 days before Amy had to leave, After getting the suspension all done I needed to drive it so I had to throw on a red GTU trunk lid and a old dented black hood... it was horrible for 3 days! lol.

Eric, thanks for the reply!

Also I had been looking for and trying to get 3.1 turbo parts, but in the end the are so outdated and hard to find replacement pieces for that it's probably better for me to just increase the HP the n/a way for now. Granted if I stumble across those parts I would definitely pick them up.

Always liked those INDYs, just not easy finding them clean and manual transmission.

I have some items that may peak your interest to kick start a very similar tgp setup. Feel free to pm me if ya wish.

Looks nice. What did you end up doing with the Pass side GFX? How does Amy like it?

I had a set of spare green gfx so I just had one painted and swapped it out. It can probably be heated and tweaked to be right again then painted but swapping was just quicker.

Amy loves how it handles with the Koni Eibach combo but says it could use a bit more pep. LOL go figure.
