Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
I didn't test anything, but I also didn't think there was a way I could either. I just figured that the car near stalling at stoplights was the solenoid itself going out, since none of the other primary sensors had any issues. I had asked about it a long time ago on here, and a couple members recommended replacing the TCC solenoid.
And ironically, my "Industrial Gray" is also Ford Gray, I hope you didn't just jinx me!
That is also the new one cylinder 4T60E! Helps with race mode! Haha.

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
If you had a 3t40 then I would back up that statement and say yes, stalling at stoplights can be related to a TCC solenoid not releasing, but I've never seen that happen on a 4t60e equipped car. Being that you had a modified engine before, your stalling issue could have just been tuning alone and the engine had trouble finding its happy spot and couldn't idle properly.

That's what I had thought originally too. I guess we'll hopefully find out soon enough, right?

"Small" update -
Trans should be in by the weekend. Intakes, timing cover and oil pan are all being prepped for paint, going back with the original paint scheme of black block, timing cover and upper intake, red lower intake and oil pan.
I'm dropping off the rest of the paint and a new battery tonight.
I'm starting to get a wee bit excited over here!

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
I touched my car Thursday! She's a dirty girl. Very, very dirty.
The transmission looks amazing in person. The upper and lower intakes, oil pan and timing cover have all been mildly sandblasted to prep for paint, and the EGR port was removed and filled in since I'm not using the EGR.
I have one issue I know I'm going to run across, running the 36 lb. L67 injectors. I have a general idea how to adjust for them after researching on 60degree, but what tables do I access on TunerPro?

What mask are you running? And is it obd1 or 2? There should be a base pulse width parameter. I forget exactly where it is because it's been so long.

I'm assuming you have OBD1 with the Tuner Pro.
In OBD1 with Tuner Pro when I turbocharged my 3.1 Indy, there was a constant that can be edited which tells the ECM what size in lbs the injector is.
For 0-99% I worked on changing spark and efficiency tables.
for 100% WOT, there was a separate table that has AFR ratios for the RPM.
I believe there was also one or two more tables that worked with RPM, MAP, and Temp; but someone else helped me and did most of the work (They charged money for that, lol), I tried to learn what I could (which wasn't much) and did some adjusting for my airflow to be proper but that was about it.
There is also a constant setting that turns off the egr so it doesn't run the egr tables.
For me, finding the proper xdf file to read my bin file was the hardest part, once I got that, most everything was labeled properly.

Gearhead-efi.com is a good resource for XDFs and info. If you're running $A1, the EGR setting is its minium temp, which I turned all the way up to 255.
The WOT setting is called the Power Enrichment, which you can actually set under WOT at a specified throttle %.

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
I'm temporarily OBD 1.5 with the P66 V6 XDF, but there's just so much there that I don't know where to start. The ECM is going to think I'm still running my '94 injectors, so I know it won't run my larger L67 injectors.

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
Is there an injector or fuel injector constant with value in lbs or flow rate of some kind? I assume it is in the ecm, maybe the xdf is incomplete and doesn't have it?whiteretta wrote:I'm temporarily OBD 1.5 with the P66 V6 XDF, but there's just so much there that I don't know where to start. I'll get a photo of all of the tables I can modify this evening.
For now, some eye candy...

Here are a few tables after doing parameter searches...

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
I just downloaded and opened my tune using the $1FA XDF, for 94 - 95 3.1 A Body's, and it actually lists Injector Flow Rate.

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.
I downloaded the XDF to try and help find it, I'm not sure where to look.
Doing a search in constants I see "Number of successive reference pulses to allow running fuel"
I'm wondering if this is what needs changed to account for the injector size change if nothing else were to need editing.
I see "Base pulse constant" but it looks like its just a pulse and I wonder if the spark references that as well because I see "Number of successive reference pulses to allow running spark"
If thats the case there is probably an equation of pulses Vs injector flow rate that you need to find and solve to adjust it.
The nice thing about the other xdf you downloaded is the flow rate constant is already there, easy to change, just make sure the unit conversions are good.
I wonder which XDF is best suited for your binary file.
The problem I encountered when I was tuning my vehicle was many XDF files were either incomplete and missing things, or they had incorrect definitions which caused issues. for my 90 Beretta with the $8F code I went through like 20+ XDF files before I got one that was mostly close.
In the end I paid someone to give me his XDF file with te stipulation I don't share it with anyone, but that XDF file only worked with that binary file.
What car are you tuning? 1994 Beretta v6 3100 SFI?

Hmmm... I may have to look at those tomorrow then. Any info has to help!
It's a '94 3500 swap, with bolt on's and a street cam. It ran great with the old 3400 with the same bolt on's and cam, but I also had stock injectors in that setup.
